Can the Silver Surfer beat Superman?

The Silver Surfer wins....never said "easily", but he wins at least 7/10 times, if not 8/10 times. I've read both comic books, the Silver Surfer and Superman, and the only versions of Superman who would have a guaranteed victory against the Surfer are Pre-Crisis Superman, Superman Prime, and maybe the cross-over Herald Superman (when Galactus forced him into servitude).

Otherwise, I just cannot see how Modern Age Superman, New 52 Superman, or definitely not Golden Age Superman, could possibly guarantee victory against the Silver Surfer.

Perhaps we should clarify which version of Superman we are discussing? Or did I miss that part? If so, I apologize.

Why would other versions of Superman can't win against Surfer?

Which comics are you referring to?

Yes he can beat him.

You're far too ignorant to pretend you have a valid opinion here.

Surfer cannot even beat Thor for a majority, but he can beat Superman lmaoooo

How would Surfer beat Superman?

Yes he can.

This can go either ways.

Surfer is favourised in ranged fights and Superman in cqc.

Abc logic and you've been posting for over a decade. Gross.

Combination of versatility and power, enough to give him a majority.

That's not specific enough. What would Surfer hurt Superman with, enough to win?

P.S. The more powers to choose from then the slower a character will act.
That's why Surfer mostly do generic blasts. It doesn't take much thinking.

What if Surfer first attack is to wrap Superman up in Adamantium. Would he have enough time to do a second attack?

Has he ever done so?

The consensus on the VS forum thinks so. I'd like to hear what people think about it in this forum.

Debate.

Vsforum is garbage.

And Surfer beats Superman easily.

Try posting speed feat scans proving Superman theoretically blitz's anybody, and Carver will immediately ask for scans of him blitzing someone at those speeds.

But here he is, giving Surfer a win based on something he could, in theory, do, but has never ever done in or out of combat.

They call it "Carver logic" for a reason.

How does he beats Superman easily?

Yes he can but it won't be easy at all.

He gets no where near the majority.

Maybe 4/10 and that is being generous.

60 percent of the board says easily...

Solar rip/red sun/kryptonite exploitation.

Don't have the scans on me, but he gamma drained Hulk (Several times, including almost killing Bannerless), and knew enough to use Gladiator's weakness against him. (Not exactly common knowledge, so seemed like a "cosmic awareness" thing.)

Hulk isn't Superman. Superman has drained Rampage (Hulk knock off) as well. Superman has better draining resistance than even Surfer does.

Gladiator's weakness is common knowledge, it's known through the cosmos.

Nope. Maybe if Superman is weakened.

This is ridiculous. The Surfer absolutely can defeat Superman through weakness exploitation. Superman can not, nor has he ever been able to defend against everything under the sun. He's a living phucking battery, and the Surfer can muck with his system. I can see if Superman were some type of mystical construct that did not get his powers from the sun, but he does, which means that the power cosmic can manipulate those energies.

But Superman can also use weakness exploitation with Surfer, via punching him really hard.
