ken doesnt street fight (he even said he doesnt like to street fight in the street fighter movie when T-hawk tried to battle him in the warehouse..if you regard that as canon)... Terry does, on the other hand... which means more battles, which builds more experience...ken is strictly a tourney guy
Ken had only fought with ryu and trained under the master in his mid-teens... terry had already fought multiple blackbelts in southtown and beaten them by then

As I already have STATED Terry would never underestamate Ken....EVER. Ken may have started out first before Terry, but Terry has been surviving on his own in life and death situations on the hell streets of Southtown....that was HIS training. Ken was training alongside Ryu under the guidance of their master...but it was not in a life or death situation like Terry.
So I am leaning towards The Lone Wolf...but it would be hard ass long battle that I can agree on.

Ryu and Ken are equals, Terry would get his ass kick by Ken if he under estimate Keen. Ken has more fighting experience than Terry, Ken is a year younger than Ryu. But it could go either way, I will take Ken more often than not.
and y'all already know that I think terry is more matched for ryu.. but thats my opinion (as they have much more in common)

Well after sf 2 Ken didn't train much and Ryu has the better one in sf 3 third strike
they have had much spars. CANON IT IS 2-2!!!
and you have some uncanon matches like Ken who won from Ryu in sf 3 second impact etc etc.
Ryu is the better on after Sf 3 Third Strike. Ken did only enter the tournament to fight just ONCE against Ryu.
BUT!!!! KEN HOLDS BACK!!!! RYU DOESN'T!!! That is also a difference.

I also respect everyones opinion.. I just find it interesting that 'holding back' is a factor... why would you hold back if you wish to win? IMO ryu does only whats necessary, because he doesnt seem to care much for 'victory' as much as he cares for becoming stronger.. which in turn is why I feel he is a league above ken

I would not call Ken the underdog....believe me many people put Terry as the underdog quite alot which is also in the storylines. Though in my opinion I think Terry will win. I also agree that Ken has the heart of a fighter just like Terry.
Damn! This thread takes me back. Looking back on all those old posts made me laugh. I mostly play w/Ken, Rock, Maki & Iori. I'd like to get good w/Kim 'cause he's tough and always gives me a rough time.
Going by the way he's been treated in the SNK/Capcom(The books & the game itself) I actually think SNK respects Ken more than Capcom does. I still think Ken would win, but Terry might give him a run for his money.

Terry would give Ken more than a run for his money and I belive he would win. As for SNK respecting Ken more than Capcom?...you think so?...well I have to say Playmore(I dont really call them SNK anymore) have shafted alot of good characters including Terry to concentrate on horrible characters like Ash.
Though I think Capcom has not forgotten Ken and as I said at least Capcom never forget the characters that brought them to the dance.
