Still contemplating whether or not to pursue the strange chakra, Neji felt a strange eerie sensation. It was as if deep eyes bored into him, absorbing all that he was. The person must have been looking at him, but where was he? Was he hostile? He turned the corner and finally decided to check it out. He realized that it DEFINITELY wasn't the chakra of Hinata's new friend.

Turning the corner, Neji heard the door to Touka's house open and close. The chakra he felt earlier was still there- still burning in the back of his brain. He expected the assailant to pop out of Touka's house, a bloody kunai in their mouth, but was quickly relieved when Hinata came out of the house. She had the same worried look he had come to recognize so well. She must have just realized someone was around, her chakra senses weren't as developed as his was.

She hadn't noticed that he was a few ways away from her, and Neji began approaching his younger cousin. He was about to say something, when he felt the strange chakra surge momentarily. His byakugan opened instinctively, the person was going to attack. He looked back towards Hinata. The heir of the Hyuga main branch, she was going to be attacked! His brotherly protectiveness for her kicked in. He couldn't reach her in time, and he didn't have any shuriken or kunai. About to shout a warning, Neji heard something that surprised him.

"Miharu?! Are you out there? Are you alright?!" Hinata shouted, her hands cupped around her mouth.

Neji put on a shocking face and guffawed. "Does she know this person?" Getting out of his attack mode, he stood in place, a bit shocked. "How many new friends did she make today?" Neji asked himself, unknowingly asking outloud.

Even more shocking was when Neji saw who the attacker was. He had half-expected to see a strong shinobi wearing dark clothing, perhaps with a weapon of some kind, but Neji was surprised when he saw that the "mystery power chakra" wasn't a hulking behemoth...but a fragile young woman...no older than Hinata. She had dirtied clothing and more than a few cuts and bruises. Neji wondered what she could have been through, and realized Hinata's concern for the poor girl. Her tattered hair swayed in the snow, giving an air of mystery to her.

Hinata's female friend still stood on the roof suspiciously. Neji had barely heard her say "Hai. I am fine. I apologize for my unexcused arrival, Hinata-chan. I had to... check some things out." Neji lifted an eyebrow. Despite this womans appearance...something was strange. If she was a helpless woman, and was here to drop by to say hello to her new friend...what was she doing sneaking around on top of the roof? Wouldn't if have made more sense to at least knock on the door? Even Naruto would have more sense than that.

Neji felt himself drawn and approached Hinata from behind. Over his cousins shoulder. That was when he looked at Hinata's arm, it had been cut recently, a gash in her sweater and a trickle of blood on her fingers caused Neji to swell up in anger. "Who did this?" He thought to himself. Was it her? Neji stared up at the new arrival. She may have looked innocent, but her demeanor was strange.

Neji felt that there was something about her that couldn't be trusted. Maybe he was just being paranoid. Regardless, when the newcomer looked down at Neji, their eyes met, but Neji did not give a welcoming look. His stern lavender eyes met hers, a defiant look in his eyes. Hinata didn't realize what this girl was trying to accomplish, but Neji wouldn't allow anything to happen to Hyuga, or his cousin. The wind rustled through his long hair.

Will You Dance To This Beat and Hold A Lover Close?

::Nodda problem at all. You just take care and be safe Jill. I don't want you getting hurt *huggle*::

For a moment, not much seemed to move inside her mind. She closed her eyes, relaxing in the chilly wind. Around her, the wind picked up, making goosebumps crawl along her skin. Her face turned rosy as the blood tried to heat the cells there. But still, the girl did not move to shield herself from the winter's fangs. She was used to horrific weather, and was a patient shinobi, she could wait for days, sometimes weeks with the right supplies and stamina.

Her eyes slowly opened. Instead of the compound she had seen, she was back at her home. Oh home... How long had it been? A year? No, far longer. The weather was no longer fierce and cold, but warm and welcoming. Flowers blossomed, and children played. Elders told stories to young children about raids that happened during their prime of life. As the voices of the elderly shinobi grew more excited, the optics of the children widened until one would fear they would no longer fit their faces. Drifting to her senses, came the delightful smell of rice cakes, ramen, and other such treats. Oh how she missed them. She would've given anything to be able to bite into those delicious foods. Then a voice seemed to be calling her name. A warm, charming, muscular voice. A voice she could trust with her life, and her heart. She spun round and there he stood. She felt tears gather in her orbs as she raced towards him.

But as she neared, the imaged faded. Around her, her home began to seep away. It was like a beautiful painting, a true work of art, getting water splashed down upon it, and being destroyed. Frantically she jerked her head round to recover the images. Calling out all of her friend and family and screaming for help, she found her voice made no sound. She placed a hand on her throat, screaming out once more. Nothing. She turned and faced him. Eyes met, and for a moment her heart was healed. Then, blood spilled around her lover's frame. She heard the screams so familiar to her that she almost failed to hear them. He was screaming. "Hold on! I'm coming!! Please hold on. WAIT FOR ME!" Then, two dagger-like eyes formed. They were like a snake's. Thin pupils but with a red coating. Forming around it came the assasin's. He placed a hand on her beloved's neck and whispered so softly it seemed to be carried away by the wind. But, soft as it was, she heard it clearly.

"Tick, tock... Remember Miharu, your task has yet to be completed. He's waiting for you."

Eyes met hers once more. Tears raced down her cheeks as she watched her lover struggling against the assasin's grip. She whimpered, falling to her knees and sobbing. "I'll do it. Please, do not harm him. Let us be together again. Please..."

Opening her orbs, she returned to the winter world. Her limbs felt icy and numb from the jaws of the winter blizzard. Rising to her feet, she stumbled slightly, still in a bit of shock from the vision. She gazed up into the sky, and saw him gazing back. She would get what she wanted. They would become one once again. No matter the cost, she was going to be with him.

Turning her head back down towards the boy, her eyes shimmered with amusement. She smirked slightly. Despite her dirtied and pathetic appearance, her chakra was rising to a noble and proud level. Eyes turned completely white as her pupils vanished. For a moment, she fell forward. One would think she had died and was falling to the earth. Then, two different eyes snapped back. She caught herself on the roof and crouched down, gazing now at the two below her with feline-optics. She smirked, her chakra still rising as it seemed to make the air round her crackle with energy much matching that of lightning.

Finally, her lips parted, and a rumble in her vocals signaled her words rising. She had noted his glance at Hinata's arm and had no problem with confessing. What threat could this boy be to her? To them? "I did it. The wound will heal. She is capable of standing strong against a cut as small as that. Her chi is something to respect, not fretted upon."

Why was she sticking up for the Hinata girl? Especially if it was against someone she knew was clearly her relative. Was she mad? Perhaps. She had always been a little crazy. Maybe she'd finally cracked? But wasn't there some kind of sign that she had snapped? Shaking her head, she cleared her thoughts away and leapt from the roof, landing gracefully onto the snow under her. She straighted up, her feline eyes still gazing at the boy without moving. It was no longer her seeing, it was it. The akuma was studying the boy and it's first thought was simple. Attack. Kill. Attack. Kill.

(Wooo! We are back on track with Shinobi Rikari here! Alright let's see....who do we need...hmm....Ino! and lets see.....Kiba?)

( Hmmm.... No one else, eh? Oh yeah, read my Naruto fanfic! link
EDIT: Wow... that came out wrong...
Nice sig, by the way. )

(well it's difficult for me to just up and think of someone. Which characters do you like?)

( No one playing Naruto, still? I don't see why people don't want to, he's fairly easy. just have to think in the mindset of an annoying but thoughtful, hyperactive kid. )

(Actually because we lacked a Naruto - I had been playing him. Scroll back a couple pages to check it out - rate my "naruto-ness"😉

( Nice. You hit the nail right on the head, pardon my use of cliches. Hm... When's this RP set?)

(yay a kankuro! ^^)
Temari spotted Kankuro approaching her.

"I he can be at times...." she said in a way that sounded nervous that he might hear them. "But we shouldn't talk about our own brother like that, plus he might hear us" she said in a whisper."It's a christmas party at Hyuuga Hinata's house. You going to go?" she asked while walking back with him.

Kankuro stuffed his hands in his pockets and replied, "Yeah, I probably am... I mean, I do have an outfit and everything..." He said, turning a little red. He gazed at the moon and sighed, "So, any idea on how we'll get there in time? Or, have you even thought about that yet?" Kankuro closed his eyes, droopy with sleep. "Perhaps we should leave tommorow morning, or we can wait... it's really up to you, I don't know the details." He looked over at Gaara for a moment, and then turned back towards Temari, "Do you think that Shino will be there..." He said remembering a previous encounter with the bug-user.

(Chakra, nice to see you, well "see" in a sense, again. Quincy got you back on here. (Dammit, need to get my BLEACH dvds back.))

(I'm not really sure. It's pretty much an ulterior universe. I always wanted this to take place after the Sasuke retrieval arc, and since we have no Sasuke....I'm glad. I hate Sasuke....he's a bastard. Oh and Kank, that wallpaper was too big for me to put here. I have to find another way.)
