Earthquake kills 30,000 in INDIA-PAKISTAN AREA.

This has been a very bad year in terms of natural disasters. The tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and now this.

My grandpa lives 700km away in North India and he says the everything shook for an hour and half on and off. He counted at least 10 aftershocks. The main earthquake threw him of the bed. (hes very overweight so it would take a lot of force). The cows tipped to their sides, some trees fell and some poorly made structures collapsed. You could not stand for that whole time. He says its the worst in his 70 years he has been living. This is 750 km away. I wonder how bad it is much closer to the epicenter. I hope the world helps again like they did in the Tsunami.
I hope this goes no where near 50,000.

Damn that sucks for those people... I wonder if this will get as much media coverage as the Tsunami and as much support.

It will get coverage, there isn't much else goin on.. It is in the very sensitive area of Kashmir.

This earthquake was shallow. It covered a huge Area. It was felt from Kabul to Central India . There is damage from Punjab, India (my area) to eastren Afgainstan.

Has anyone else noticed alot of natural disasters going on lately?

And there has just been a hurricane in Guatemala killing thousands with landslides.

my relatives died in this earthquake, they lived in Islamabad. I just hope help is provided from all portions of the globe, because this is a terrible tragedy. Young children attending schools have been buried under debris since this earthquake and because of the lack of facilities in my country, no one can really help them. I just pray that the super powers of the world help Pakistan recover from this awful tragedy.

i live in islamabad, a girl in my class is dead. atleast three more r dead in the class above mine, n 4 more r dead in the one above that, this is people i ****in knew, my best friend almost lost her life thrice n another one of my friend's just barely got out of the collapsin tower i islamabad. actually the confirmed death toll is in hundreds of thousands right now but the bloody army n government rent lettin those figures out because they show the mismanagement of this whole affair by the government, therev been like 114 serious aftershocks., DAMN THIS IS THE WORST THING IVE ****IN LIVED THROUGH, IM SURPRISED MY ****IN HOUSE IS STILL STANDIN,

actually its definately in the hundredS of thousands but the damn military government aint lettin that news out. the last two days have been realy long.................just found out that a really nice teacher of ours died too, with her husband, n her daughter is still alive, also talked on the phone with a girl from school whose apparently still under the rubble of that damn margalla tower apartment building, i dunno how she got a hold of a phone down there, hope those bastards hurry up before she dies, also another girl in the rubble that we were hopin would make it is dead, and one of the guys who lost his life, well they got his little brother out alive but hes lost four limbs, .........................i just feal so ****in empty right now.

I couldn't even imagine what I'd do in an earthquake. Condolences to them all.

Glad we don't have them here.....don't live near any fault lines...we only get tornado's.....but the death toll there is very high, and so very very sad.....I bet some take all these tragedies as a sign of "The End Times." mentioned in scripture......So now if millions of people disappear! Hmmmm 😑
