Why do people keep talking "Pre Crisis Darkseid" and wishing he would "come back"?
Darkseid is Darkseid.
He avoided the Crisis re-write by using his power to meld his being and planet with the current continuum during the COIE.
It's the SAME GUY.
He's just had a couple of bad showings against Superman in like the last two years..., other than that, he still dominates everyone else I've seen him fight. ... Well, Orion, but he said back in day that Orion would likely one day be more powerful than he. Although the day hasn't come yet, he did give DS a fight.

He is the same guy, yeah. Just with an extreme low powerset compared with what he was.
And not just since two years ago.

Interestingly, both" Animal Man" and the "JLA:Earth Two" story were written by Grant Morrison. Go figure.Say, who's that at 11 o'clock in the issue #4 cover up there? Aminal Man!
Ah, I wasnt the only one to notice that then...As soon as I knew Morrison was in the background somewhere, I had a feeling OG supes would return...he loves the character.
Frankly, I thought the endcaps with OG Supes were the best thing about the Kingdom. A little Super-Dickery should knock the angst out of the current DC croud. Eegad, they whine more than the X-Men these days.
