Well I don't like Alpha Flight just because their Canadian, but their underdogs and one of the strongest teams ever that pushed the envelope. If there is no Canadians in this new Alpha Flight then that's dumb, since we still know there is an Alpha Flight team still in space and was stated the temporal copies from NA #16 didn't all die.

Congratulations, Marvel. You managed to not only butcher the "death" of Alpha Flight (thus pissing off loyal fans) but also offend an entire country by replacing the members of their local superhero team with a bunch Americans (thus pissing off loyal fans even more) all in one fell swoop.
I hope this is just a really bad rumor.
i understand the resentment of many life-long alphans that the new team will be consisting of americans. i do. but it's not as though the "new alpha flight" is meant to wash away all memory of the previous seventeen incarnations. it's meant to be something entirely separate, dealing with the socio-political environment that's being set up with the upcoming civil war. it's something entirely separate, just slapping the same name on new shit. to get truly offended would be as pointless as old new mutant fans being pissed at elixir and his crew for taking up the name. or at bedlam and his bunch for stealing the name "hellions."
also, seventeen was meant as a joke, and socio-political may or may not be a real term.
I wouldn't mind it so much if they had a few protesting American superheroes actually join the Alpha Flight team (ie with the Canadian members). This could have led to some rather interesting dynamics as the new and old members struggled to accepts and work with one another. But to kill the old guard off and replace them wholesale with Americans just seems really dumb to me.
I wouldn't mind if there were American's on the team since over the years they have had members not from Canada. Sunfire (Japan), Jade Dragon (China), Windshear (England), etc. However, if they don't have any previous Alpha Flight members then I will be pissed. I'm all for a change, but don't just toss the original Alpha Flight away.

Sasquatch vs. Thing
Marvel Two-In-One #83- Here it is the infamous Sasquatch vs. Thing fight. Thing is traveling to Canada to find Walter since he is considered to be the best scientist on the effects of radiation. Thing's friend Giant Man is dying so he wants to find Walter to help get a cure. So he travels to Canada and runs into Sasquatch. Even the scans prior stated by Sasquatch he is weakened by just transforming yet Thing still states he is stronger. Thing admitted, "Sheesh! Your bigger, stronger, talk better than me and played proball! There must be something I can beat you at!", Sasquatch replies, "I doubt it". Scans from HERE!

Alpha Flight #112-Here's the story that showed the former Talisman teleporting an entire city with hundreds of thousands of people into an empty dimension. I even posted these scans earlier, but never clued in she teleported a city. I underestimated Talisman.
