The Hulk wasn't firing gamma rays. He was emmiting them. Same as an irradiated piece of metal would.

Are you simple?
The Galaxy Master is firing two beams. One hits the Hulk, one goes between his legs. The Hulk is hurt, but then raises his hands to block the blasts. As he blocks the blasts, the beams rebound off of his hands, and back towards the Galaxy Master.
