Joke or not, you insulted another member, which is factually against the rules. Just because it was a "joke" doesn't make it okay. It warranted a warning, obviously. How am I insulting? Care to back that up in some reasonable fashion, or...?
As for Spell, how come you guys can't convince me he is wrong? Maybe because he just made a few stupid comments worthy of no attention at all, I'm just not impressed to think that is a valid reason for banning in your own policy, the sock thing is. But that is not really the reason is it.
Because apparently you don't want to be convinced. Lana has told you that he directly insulted her, told you where to look for proof of this. Kharmah gave evidence as well that showed him insulting her and breaking the rules. You seem to be biased to me, you're steadfast in your belief that this was an unfair banning, yet you've yet to back it up in a logical manner. You've simply said "I haven't seen anything I think is worthy of a ban", which is why you're not a moderator and only strengthens my theory that you have a poor grasp on the rules of this site.
Now don't think I am some kind of SpellJammer sympethatic, I just find this banning very odd.
But if suppose the moderator made a personal decision rather than a policy one, would you guys even admit it? I don't really think so.. And I don't like it.
What's so odd about this banning? He broke the rules, factually, unarguably. You seem to disagree, but again, you have shown you have a poor understanding of the rules and a sloppy idea as to how to deal with trouble makers -"Ignore them, don't ban them". No, if someone breaks the rules multiple times, as SJ did, then we are SUPPOSED to ban them. I don't understand why you are struggling with this.
Yes, if a moderator acted inappropriately other moderators would challenge that decision. It wouldn't be the first time.
And the right to 'despose of' without an explanation is very weak.

Once again, you're displaying your inability to understand things. An explanation has been given, he broke the rules, he insulted numerous members, numerous times. You've been given a direct link to one of the times he did it. Granted, the link was to one of his lighter insults, he said much worse to people in the GDF, as Lana has pointed out several times.
Trust me, if you get banned, you'll know why.
