If you don't want your kid playing a game you don't think is appropriate for them...actually parent them and take the damn thing away.

i think the biggest thing that affects kids is the behavior of parents overall, bad parents often make a bad kid

No, there has never been any definitive study that shows violent games have an effect on normal kids.

Now, it is possible that a game could influence an already troubled kid, but so can TV, movies, and bad parents.

There has not been done a single credible study that shows that it effects kids.

There have been studies done, but they've all had other factors that skewed the outcome - like giving kids that already have aggressive tendencies and that have lashed out at others in the past a GTA game. But since there were other factors having an effect then it is not reliable.

Correlation doesn't equal causation and all that.

The reason videogame girls are in Playboy: They found Dead or Alive fanboys in a mouldy basement surrounded by pictures of Tifa and Lara Croft.

This makes no sence, studies and media blame games for many incidents that happens to kids, when they overlook other problems. The things that they say about GTA and DOA are juat bullshit they pull out of thier asses.

Parenting is too difficult, it's easier for the government to simply disallow what I feel is inappropriate for my children, that way I can watch my reality shows and Fox News while not worrying about my children experiencing something new.

I just thought having kids was just a different form of an retirement fund.

Instead of saving money through RSP's, you just have a couple of kids, give them an eduction, hopefully they turn out to be docters and then just leech off of them after 55. It is not very relieble but it could work.
