Cthulhu Chronicles: Tidings of madness and woe
Cthulhu Chronicles: Tidings of madness and woe
Chapter One?
Loathsome Cthulhu rose then from the deeps and raged with exceeding great fury against the Earth Guardians. And They bound his venomous claws with potent spells and sealed him up within the City of R'lyeh wherein beneath the waves he shall sleep death's dream until the end of the Aeon. Beyond the Gate dwell now the Old Ones; not in the spaces known unto men but in the angles betwixt them. Outside Earth's plane They linger and ever awaite the time of Their return; for the Earth has known Them and shall know Them in time yet to come.
We live in a world that shun the very thought of magic and of ancient beings. We live in a world where logic and science is all that matter, where heretics are judged insane. Theorists has at times spoken though in belief that insanity perhaps is not as insane as it might imply, only restricted. In recent days, weeks, more and more cases of insanity has been reported and while their insanity differ from individual to individual, there is one word linking them all together. Cthulhu!
Now I ask you, dare you seek the truth? Maybe the world as we know it is just that: What we know. Maybe though, maybe there is more to this recent plaguing insanity than just coincidence. Do you believe in magic? Do you believe there is more to this world than what man has witnessed with their mortal eyes? Do you believe in ghosts?
If so, there is a city in Massachusetts named Arkham where the cases of insanity are higher than anywhere else in the world. If you do not already live there, venture now and seek out the answers that science and logic can not give you.
If digging into the myth of this Cthulhu is something you want nothing more than to avoid, pray to whatever God out there that you do not already live in this insanity plagued city.
What is to be expected?

looks good. sign me up.
A little specifications on the roleplay. The antagonists of the story will be lead by me and a lot of the story is about investigating Arkham and recent events, as well as follow leads. You are free to roam as you please, but what makes this hosted is that in the end you will not be able to escape the fate of all men, only fight it.
Because I intend for it to be modern fantasy and horror, I will claim the authority to kill characters that do overly stupid things. Which, briefly put means if you back into the dark alley with the red eyes, you might not make it out of there alive. Snooping around among ancient powers and mysticism might end up with you coming across traps and other things.
Bottom line: You have a head between your shoulders. Use it or you might get killed. I will not be roleplaying the omnipotent host, but rather the host that has the power to take your characters life if your character does something that is obviously stupid, like disobeying the crazy guy with the gun.
What I am trying to say is that there is not much horror in a horror roleplay where you can not die. In this world, in my world, you can. I will however not throw events on a character that will lead to unavoidable death.

It is actually not humanly possible to pronounce Cthulhu, but Lovecraft describe the closest humaly possible is "Khlûl'-hloo". The most common pronounciation I think is something like "kə-THOO-loo"

The Mythic Squad
The Mythic Squad
Year: 2028
For years, Mankind never believed in mythical things. Some said that it was a hoax. Some even said that it was fake. Now, in the year 2028, Humans are at peace with the Mythical Creatures. They learn what Humans do. Making their own jobs, living a normal life, and even controlling their powers to not scare Humans.
Long time ago, the Treaty of Terra was signed by the President of the United States and an Emperor spirit of Eigengrau. It keeps the Mythics and Mankind at peace.
In the city of Detroit, a small group of people named the Mythic Squad looks out for Mankind and the Mythics, keeping the peace to both parties. Whenever troubles stirs, they'll be there to solve the case. Even the mayor knows them well.
One night, at 10:20 pm, something went horribly wrong. A call came to the squad, telling them that a Werewolf went out of control and attacked a young woman. But when the Mythic Squad came and shot it down, the woman cried out that he was her boyfriend and was trying to save her from an attack from an mysterious being.
This devastated the squad, and they were sent to the Detroit City Council. Before they could give their badges to the Council, they pleaded to investigate on who misled them to kill the Werewolf and why. The Council agreed, but on one condition: they would send a man named Johnny Wills with them. He is an old major, and keeps the Mythic Squad on track. If they complete their mission, they'll keep their job and continue on to protect innocent lives. If not, then the Council must stop their organization and there won't be anymore Mythic Squad.
You are the Mythic Squad. Find out who misled you to kill an innocent Mythical creature and why. Some mythical creatures are against you now and may come your way, but don't let that stop you from getting to the suspect that started this chaos.
You may also be a Mythical creature on the Mythic Squad, not just a Human. So... who wants to find this suspect?

Not just any mythology. It's more like "mythical" creatures. Say like:
Vampires, Werewolves, Aliens, Bigfoot, Loch ness Monster, Ghosts, Chupacabra, etc.
Here's a link to any mythical creatures that you might be interested in:
