What a limited, intolerant and ignorant thing to say 🙂

You are right.

I take that back. I will rephrase it:

If I wasn't already convinced that Christianity hasn't become a political business in the United States, I am now. 🙂

😂

an ideal or faith is not tarnished by the people who believe in it
Christian organizations completely overplay the "anti-gay" ideas in The Bible

I found an interesting story on Christianitytoday.com

A woman claims that her son "came out" to her. She was devestated and the more she got to speak with him, he eventually revealed to her that he was molested my multiple men throughout school, and taken to gay bars by his father, who supposedly also molested him...

This is how he "turned gay".

He wanted to be "straight again" and was disgusted by his own homosexual attractions, as is "every homosexual".

Through Exodus International, he was "cured" of his gayness, and became a straight man of Christ.

Now she keeps her son safe from the "enemy"...the evil faceless people..."the homosexuals".

If I wasn't already convinced that Christianity wasn't a political business, I am now. 🙂

You're like the South Park episode in which Stan misinterprets the definition of "political."

The story says the man is still gay...

Link or sumthin.

Hmmm

I can't like to South Park; I have watched like a total of seven episodes.

Also, I like how Urizen is perusing ChristianityToday for troll material.

Well it ignores things like this:

http://www.redeemermorristown.org/rdmrhist.html
"Gay and lesbian people were fully welcomed into the parish family. Redeemer performed the first same-sex blessing in 1991. Today at Redeemer, an equal number of same-sex as opposite-sex marriages are performed. In 1999 the Vestry voted to use the language of "sacramental marriage" for all unions blessed at Redeemer. The vestry's position was clear that, though the state can define what is legal, it cannot define what is holy."

Or this:

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0MKY/is_9_30/ai_n16462561
According to Rev. Paul Gibson, leader of the St Sebastian community, the establishment of fellowships in Kenya and Uganda "is only the beginning of a new fully inclusive church that will grow in strength and stature, while also becoming a voice for Christians who have been marginalized by an out-of-date system of administration." The church leader leaves no doubt that, when he speaks about "marginalized Christians," he mainly refers to Kenyans and Ugandans with a sexual minority background.

Or this:
http://www.advocate.com/news_detail_ektid36706.asp
"A liberal, pro-gay church"

Zeal sorta has a point. If you have Google and five minutes it's possible to tear down Urizen's stereotype of hatred quite easily.

Moar like too retarded.

Bringing up that Christian website was retarted 👇

I read an article, got an anger impulse, and decided to post it. Then I forgot why I posted it.

Please Forget the article, it's nothing new.

***********************************************************

The only thing is I think it's sad what Christianity has been turning into with its involvement in politics and education. I grew up Christian, and I always beleived it was truly about love, understanding, and unity.

As I got older, and saw its applications in the societal world, I realized that my intepretation of Christianity was either a dead dream, or a poor illusion.

It's just sad to see a major world religion, with over a thousand years of history, being used as a simple tool to attack others.

Edit: And I don't mean around the world. I mean here in the United States, where its being polarized. Luckily, there are Universalist Christians sects, and even traditional Christians who are more open minded and unifying.

But it's very easy for sites like Chick Tracts and Christianity Today to give it such a horrible reflection.

I really don't see what's so wrong about the article. A kid got raped when he was younger. Now he doesn't want to be gay. So what?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the article makes teh assumption that being raped made him gay, thus proving to many believers that homosexuality is the result of some childhood trauma/choice, thus making it a legitimate sin in the eyes of a god who apparently created us to torment us.

Being raped isn't a sin.

People who make claims that homosexuality is a result of trauma are trying to justify it psychologically.

I never said it was. I was talking about being gay. And you're right; people who don't understand homosexuality attempt to justify it, but they're trying to condemn it at the same time, when they blame it on childhood trauma.

I think they are afraid. If being homosexual is a choice, then all they have to do is not make that choice. However, if you are born that why, then they might be gay. 😱

Maybe people are born gay and childhood trauma turns them straight hmm

The Article is false and is a form of right wing propaganda.

Men who are raped at an early age don't "turn gay". Being Gay is not a result of rape or molestation from an early age. It's a rediculous and overplayed stereotype.
