Also, psychiatrists are the pharmacological area of psychology. He has a Bachelors in Psychology and then he went to med school. If you go to him he will give you a bunch of BS and then prescribe you some drugs to deal with your depression.

As i stated earlier, i have read that there may be a link between genetics and being gay, I can't confirm that on hand with proof, but I'll do research on it and try to provide a link later

this is a link that states there is a possibility of it. It explains test results and that there are correlations between gay peopel and genetic, however, it doesnt down right prove it.

There is an area of the brain, the exact area escapes me at the moment, that has been shown to be of a different size in women and men. This area in the brains of homosexuals has shown to be more similar to women than men when examined post mortem. This indicates one of two things, either homosexuality is genetic or homosexual behavior effects development of the brain in this area. The results are inconclusive as to whether homosexuality is genetic or not.

a mental disorder, as (I'm fairly certain) every single sexual/gender identity disorder requires that it distress the patient as a criterion. [Which, when one thinks about it, is quite silly; one could easily have a sexual disorder without it causing distress.]

The reason people have trouple accepting their sexuality is because society had hammered them saying "straight is right, gay is wrong." You'd have issues too.

But gay people are hardly a taxing burden upon society. They are just as capable of working and contributing as anyone else. And it is one of the nice things about humanity - we don't have to give a toss about what would happen to us in the natural world. Why? Because we are a sentient species and we can affect the world rather then just going with the flow and hoping we will survive.
