Sony is certain to take a hit.. although it's good to have competition so I hope they up the ante a bit.
But seriously, they advertise their "free" online service, when pretty much everything on it will cost money, and they also fail to mention that they are leaving online servers up to the developers, who can charge as much as they want per game for online play. Xbox Live Silver (free) is the equivelant of PSN as of now, because we don't know how much it will cost to play games on PSN.
In reality, it could end up being much more to play PSN than Xbox Live. With Live you at least know every game will be Xbox Live compatable and your $50 a year (not that much for the quality of Xbox Live) covers it, except for a select few titles on the marketplace.
However, we shall wait and see. I'm VERY curious as to how all that new technology is going to fare in the PS3. The Xbox 360 certainly had some problems, I can't imagine the PS3 being any better off.

i admit, im amazed at how much blu-ray can hold. but what im not amazed at is them trying to put games on blu-ray...games aren't near even 50gb yet, max ive ever seen is 9, so COME ON MAN...not even worth putting them on blu-ray yet, keep them on like dual layer dvd or just hd-dvd sheesh 😐
Actually it's been stated by insomniac that they will b using 20gb or more of blu-ray memory for resistance: fall of man altough it still isn't the full capacity i think it's quite a lot.
and i agree sony has taken a very big blow and might lose this console war. Im placing my bet on wii this christmas with ps3 takin last place due to shortages.
and Hd dvd can hold up to as much memory as blu-ray the discs just aren't avalible to the open market yet.... hd and blu ray are on par the only real difference is that blu-ray has a tighter smaller trackpitch making them better high quality (but regular people won't really care about that) as it show minimalistic differences and 360 now does 1080p as well as ps3 so no advantage there....

Yes, but it's not because the game has more content. It's because every language version of the game is on the single disc, i.e. the English, Japanese, Korean versions are all on the same disc, and they just ship it out to every country instead of making seperate discs for different languages.
the fking mortal kombat 3 game on XBL is fake, it is NOT the original, the AI is too....good. i used to be so freaking good at the game, i swear i was like immortal on expert, but that was like last year. so i got on again, decided to start practicing by going on expert...wow they were good not what i remembered. i went to novice just to really get practice...WHAT THE HELL? they fight like they're gods, you acnt freaking block their moves, everytime you throw some move at them, they block it or backfire it, and anytime you're free by standing still, they hit you, there's no mercy, what the hell

is it comprehensible.....
Hd dvd does not hold as much data as a blu-ray, Hd dvd holds 13GB, Blu-ray holds 25gb, blu-ray dl hold 50gb.
granted that the new discs will be vastly under-used in terms of the amount of free space that will be left on the disc, but who knows, 1 year from now the models for the games may be 10 times as detailed, and then you will thank the console designers for the extra disc space.
What is up with Sony and all their hype about the damn Blu-ray? I'm not even convinced that the human eye can pick up all of the hyped up aesthetic value that the PS3 claims to offer. Same deal with the Xbox 360.
Wii is definitely gearing up to be the best next-gen console. Nintendo's free online service alone makes it the best bargain for the consumer's buck. I'm still gonna wait until Christmas to buy one though. I'm sure it will be marked down to a 199 price range by then.
