Last-Gen Console Discussions (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii)

Wii is not a next gen games console, it's barely more powerful than an Xbox. Nintendo themselves have said they chose to do the "new thing" rather than the power thing. I'm still not convinced by it, Nintendo used to be good, then they had the gamecube which I have had for 2 years and have 5 games for it - and 3 of them are re-makes of older games.

Nah... the Wii is pretty cool. Sure the graphics aren't nearly as good as the 360 or the PS3, but it makes up for it with its gameplay, and its great price.

I'm a 360 fan, but I really wouldn't mind if Nintendo wins the console wars

The Wii is not next-gen in its graphics, but is next-gen in its gameplay. There's more than one way to be next-gen, and the Wii's controller certainly qualifies it as such.

Next gen doesnt only refer to graphics.

I actually was impressed with the polished up graphics.

They aren't completely untouched from the Gamecube's graphics.

is it comprehensible.....

Well, gee, yes. It's not just a re-packaged Gamecube; it is meant to be roughly twice as powerful.

But indeed, so, the Next-Gen-ness of the Wii refers to an approach and a purpose, unlike the traditional comparison of procesisng power, in which it is a hi-powered sixth gen, not seventh.

detective

Let's also remember the case of RE4, where when a game was built specifically for the graphically weakest system to play with its strengths, it came out looking just as good as it did on the later PS2 remake. I'm not one to argue about graphics, and frankly I don't care about them much, but it's just something to think about.

20G

60G

(it has the premium 360's premium chrome, lol)

God, I'm mad they followed in the 360's path with this 2 version crap.

Just more confusion for the parents when the kid tells them to get the one with all the works and not the half @$$ one.

I thought the PS3 would be released in Silver Color.

is it comprehensible.....

Huh?

The GC has better graphical power than the PS2, but your point still remains...the PS2 version was about as good as the GC version.

No, he's right. Gamecube is capable of better graphics than the PS2. Hence why the PS2 version of RE4 is slightly downgraded in the graphics department.

Yeah, I noticed the sound got downgraded too, like when Leon said "Wait!" or "Follow me", sounded like was talking through a cardboard box or something 😂

EDIT: I doubt I'll need 60 GBs 🤨

20 GB is enough, even 10 GB is 😬

80gb on the ps2 was barely enough

Wow, I really never knew that...

What do you need 80 GBs for?! 🤨

Im guessing you dont own an XBOX 360 because demos are now more than 1GB, maps, skins, themes, XBL Arcade, saved games also take up space and not to mention if you decide to save music on your hard drive too... but the biggest problem is the OS which takes up 7GB. Now with more and more games comming out and with most of those games having downloadable content 20GB on XBOX360 isnt enough, in fact MS will soon be releasing a bigger hard drive.

On another note, I remember a few months back I read somewhere that for PS3 the Hard Drive isnt the only thing different when it comes to which package to buy. The one with 60GB will be a fully loaded console while the 20GB version will have less memory in cache and a few other things downgraded.
