First off they just say Gran Turismo and Final fantasy as if there is only one of each of them, they don't specify which one.
Second there is already a downloadable patch to fix the problem.
Third there if a video of people play FFXII on the PS3, they are referring to older Final Fantasys like FF7. This is just more bad rumor spreading blown out of proportion. Everyone loves the rumors.

Tsk..Tsk..Tsk..thou must not have taken time to look at those screenshots I posted. The CGI(Computer Generated Imaging) on the Wii(Nintendo) is nothing to sneeze at. Regardless of any graphical deficiencies thou alludes to - the system has more than enough going for it - to keep the consumer happy(and many developers to I might add).

Well, being as one of the things Sony kept bragging about was full PS2 and PS1 game compatibility on the PS3 (full as in all of them working with no patches needed), and then it turns out to not be the truth?

Well, about the number of PS3s and Wiis that'll be available this weekend...it pretty much will come down to this.
If you didn't reserve a PS3, chances are you won't be able to get one until next year unless you want to settle for the 20gb one (and even that will be available in very limited numbers, I just think people didn't put reserves for it or something). Most stores are going to be getting less systems than they were promised and thus took reserves for. We're getting half as many as we were promised. Sony claims we'll get another shipment by Christmas but none of us really believe it.
As for the Wii...well, we don't know how many of those we're getting, and won't until the shipment arrives. But as we're doing a midnight opening for it, that leads me to believe that we'll be getting quite a few more than we took reserves for; my manager also said he knows of a few stores in the area who will be getting a bunch of Wiis and to send anyone I know who wants one but wasn't able to order there. Obviously I can't do that for you guys as none of you live in the Chicago area...but there you have it.
Chances of getting a PS3 - about 5-50% if you preordered, practically non-existant if you didn't.
Chances of getting a Wii - likely 100% if you preordered, and still fairly good if you didn't. I'd say get to the stores as early as you can (if anywhere is doing a midnight opening and you can make it, do it), and call the stores before you get there to see if they have any. If you're lucky, you might just get an employee to set one aside for you.

Screen shots mean nothing. The lastest EGM talked about how crappy the grapics are on call of duty 3 and the new madden compaired to xbox360 and PS3. Give me screen shots all day long when it come down to it the Wii will be to underpowered to hang with the big boys at the finish line.

There was an article in my newspaper this morning about the PS3 launch in Japan. Funny to see Japanese media nationalism at work. All the crap about thousands of "gamers" lining up and the whole thing being a huge success, selling "100,000" consoles.
