No more Gran Turismo HD? 😕

What the hell is Sony doing? That was like one of 3 things going for PS3, except for the stupid "selling with no cars or tracks" thing they planned. 🙄

omfg, those are people who don't deserve kids
Yo. I have a question or two about all these new consoles that are out.
Firstly, is this Wii thing worth getting? It seems to me that you have to do all the actions with the controller, isn't that going to make the controls a bit clunky? I used to have an N64, and I love the Mario and Zelda series, but what else is there?
Secondly, is the PS3 all that and a bag of chips?
I haven't had a console for many years, but I'm thinking of getting one of these new ones for some fun. What say you, people?
The Wii is very intuitive and not clunky at all. Has some decent/good games out for it right at launch and comes with Wii Sports in the box. It's also Cheap by the way.
Playstation 3 had no decent/good games beside Resistance Fall of Man, which I'm not fond of and it's not really that great. Cost a lot of money.
So you'll be spending a lot of money on a console that you'll hardly play at the moment b/c no good games are out for it.
Xbox360 has a nice library surprisingly for once. You can just walk in a store and get one. Decent price.
Summary/Point: Don't get a PS3 unless you really want to play Resistance Fall of Man.
Wii is a very good choice. Cheap, different, fun, good games for a launch lineup.
Xbox360 is also a good choice and you can buy both a Xbox360 and a Wii for the price of a PS3.
SO yeah. Get either a Xbox360 or Wii or both. Don't get PS3. doped
anata wa wakarimasu ka.....
First, about the Wii controls. They are, frankly, intuitive. After getting over the initial "new way of controlling" anxiety (and setting up the controls properly) it seemed pretty natural to me. Wii Sports makes sense in how you use the controller, Excite Truck feels almost like a steering wheel, and Twilight Princess has first-person aiming down perfectly, and frees up a button with the "slashing" controls.
Now, as for getting a Wii right now, I'd advise against it. Twilight Princess and Rayman are really the only very good games for it at this point, and it won't be until probably spring next year when it has a really strong title list backing it.
The PS3 I don't personally have, so I can't give you first hand opinions, but the media seems to be taking an immense dislike to it. All sorts of situations where Sony dropped the ball, problems with the console, only one really interesting game for it so far... I'm sure it will be a decent console later on, but for the time being, same as the Wii, there's no huge reason to get one anytime soon.

I would recommend a XBOX360 with Gears Of War, trust me you will be hooked.

Nintendo also has Metroid and the like, but yeah, a lack of quality third party support still seems to be the bane for Nintendo. I've yet to try a Wii, but I've heard mostly good stuff about the control scheme. Yeah, there are some games that aren't making good use of it, where it IS clunky or shoehorned in when it probably isn't the best control scheme for a particular game, but the games that make good use of it are supposed to be wonderful. The new Metroid coming out looks to be the most intuitive console FPS yet and looks like it will make the best use of the Wiimote so far.
The PS3 isn't all that and a bag of chips...yet. It may be somepoint down the line, but right now there is nothing that warrants the high price. Has literally one solid game, and not much else. Combine that with the high price, bad, buggy hardware right now (will probably get smoothed out in teh future) and you have a system with a lot of potential for the future, however, that doesn't make it a good sytem worth your money right now.
The 360 is the current best choice, if you have to pick a system right now, that would be the one. A large number of very good games, great online support (though you have to pay a little extra), and graphics that are just as good as the PS3, plus it has a year of development under its belt already, meaning that we are already seeing the prime games that are coming out, like Gears of War, Lost Planet, Mass Effect, Bioshock and of course Halo 3. it's a reasonably priced system, right in the middle of the pack, much like the PS2 was last generation.
So, if you want to buy now, get a 360. If you don't mind waiting, then wait and see how the other systems develop.
Or you could get a DS to hold you over. Arguably the best system out right now.
Thanks for the advice, duuuuuuuuuudes. All things considered, I'm probably going to get a Wii. It's something different, and I hear there's a Zelda game coming out...Any news on a new Mario and/or Mario Kart? Those games were worth getting the N64 and SNES for alone.
Also, do Nintendo get releases like Tony Hawk Pro Skater, GTA, and good football games?
mario galaxy for wii - http://au.wii.ign.com/objects/748/748588.html

The Zelda game's already out. It's getting great reviews across the board.
The Wii has a Tony Hawk game, but it's more racing than anything. It's called Downhill Jam, and I think the focus is to get to the bottom of the hill the fastest. 😬
GTA... no. 😛
Football games, I couldn't tell you. I know the Gamecube got Madden, and I'm pretty sure the Wii does. How well the controls work, I don't know.
