About the Nintendo getting sued article I posted a while ago. Here is a picture and info I stole..I mean found somewhere. The Wii remote offers a very unique design for a gaming controller. While gamers and developers alike find it’s design to be interesting, Interlink Electronics, Inc. finds it to be a copy. Interlink Electronics is a California company that specializes in designing and manufacturing electronic interface devices (such as conference room keyboards and portable speakers) and they filed a law suit against Nintendo on Monday. Interlink Electronics has accused Nintendo of America patent infringement with the Wii remote. The company claims that Nintendo’s controller is designed and functions too much like their remote used for PowerPoint Presentations. (Like the one below.)
The complaint was filed in a US District Court in Delaware and states that the Wii remote’s trigger bottom (located on the bottom of the controller) violates Interlink Patent No. 6,850,221 (Trigger Operated Electronic Device) which Interlink Electronics secured on February 1, 2005. (And if you remember correctly, the Wii remote was introduced in September of that year.)
Interlink Electronics has drawings that show their remote’s design that dates back to the patent’s application from September 17, 1997. (Those drawings located at the end of this post.) While the Wii remote’s design does look much like Interlink Electronics’ drawings, the company does not properly explain exactly how Nintendo is violating their patent. All the company has said is, “Nintendo has made, used, offered for sale and sold in the United States, and continues to make, use, offer for sale and sell in the United States one or more controllers which activities infringe, induce others to infringe, and/or contributorily infringe the '221 patent.”
Despite the little explanation Interlink Electronics offered, the company is demanding jury trial and damages to help determine the amount of "loss of reasonable royalties, reduced sales and/or lost profits as a result of the infringing activities."

thats definatly something worth hmming about..but no...they wont get a penny out of the wii, or get it off the market..like people have said, nintendo pwn in the courtroom..
I doubt they will get anything, I think Sega was planning on doing something like the wiimote with its dreamcast but since they ran out of time never happened.
And in other news today Casio, Pioneer, Tivo and other electronics companies have joined Interlink as joint plaintiffs against Nintendo. Each company claims - that Nintendo's *Wii-mote* is actually a copy of the *remote controls* used for such electronic devices as televisions, VCR's, and DVD's produced by each company. The following is a picture of each *remote* - in comparison to the *Wii-mote* controller.
Celedon SC-33
Sony RM-EZ2 Basic
Remote controls for a TiVo DVR digital video recorder (left) and a Pioneer DVD player
Compare to Wii-mote
As you can see from above - these standard remote controllers share an uncanny likeness to the 'Wii mote' - other than the fact that the Wii-mote has motion sensors on it - a nunchuck add on controller - and standard buttons to allow for gaming. The only other minor differences between these controllers is that the Wii-mote is used to play interactive games - while the other remotes are exclusively used to change channels on a television set or play DVD's.
No official comment has been made by any of the plaintiffs legal spokesmen - however, rumour has it that one reporter overheard the following statement - during a disclosed meeting between plaintiff/defendant legal counsel - in an attempt to come to a settlement.
"Before you all attempt to reinvent the wheel, you must first get legal permission by those who made the wheel to sell it - and must call it something completely different than the wheel - or else the wheel makers can sue your ass!"
Spoiler:
for those of you who haven't figured it out - this above story is BS..He..he..

Your half correct... there is a company that is suing Nintendo for the Wiimote patent.
Well guys, I'm now the proud owner of a PS3, for a while, at least.
My dad was at Walmart today, he asked if they had any Wiis in stock, they told him no but they had PS3s. So, he picked one up, one of the 60 gig ones, and now we're going to sell it on Ebay for however much we can, or return it if it doesn't sell.
So, for the next few days, I'm the owner of the PS3. I know if I wanted it he'd let me just keep it, he already asked to make sure I didn't want it. If only Metal Gear 4 was out now, oh well.
