Yeah, considering the Wii is pretty intiutive, its kinda of weird that you cant turn of the wireless remotes to save the batteries.

Ain't it just like a regular T.V remote?
It's always on,batteries don't waste unless you touch a button.

The remote actually turns off by itself after a brief period of unresponsiveness.

For example. I'll set my controller on the bed while I go do something and I'll get back and the controller is off and my screen is blacked out a bit and a message says the controller has lost contact/signal with the console and all I have to do is aim it back at the screen and press a button and everything's all good again.

A regular TV remote is alot less sophisicated than the Wiimote. Especially, considering whenever something is happening on screen, its starts to rumble, which drains batteries.

I know the wiimote turns off after awhile, but I dont want to wait 5 minutes, I want to turn it off then because I dont want to use it. Also, it sometimes doesnt turn off at all because something hit it, or something moved, or just changed positions.

The 360 controller does it. Is it that hard to put some function that allows you turn off the controller.

Have you ever tried pushing the power button but facing the controller away from the console, as to not cut the console off as well?

SIDENOTE: I'd like to say that we lost power sometime last night while I was sleep and luckily my Nintendo Wii didn't go out as it did last time.
Very pleasing news indeed.

Never though of that.

I'll try it sometime.

As far as I know the wiimote does not have a turn off function. You either shut the console off or take the batteries out.

I honestly don't think it's that much of a problem. In all the time since the launch, I've only changed the batteries three times.

if it does become a problem, but that battery pack charger thing joyteck made
if its released, that is..

I know I know.

But still, I dont think I should need to buy an seperate gadget for something that should be included.

I've been playing for awhile, and one controller is already near the end of its battery life.

I think if you hit home, and power at the same time, that could turn off the controller pretty easy.

I finally got me a Classic controller...
The D-pad is a bit weird.I keep pressing down+forward instead of just forward....
Well it's better than using a Gamecube controller.

You've run out the batteries THAT quickly?

Could just be that you got cheap batteries, though.

My mom said yesterday that she wants to get a Wii. I'm rather amused and pleased at that 😊

The Battery life for the Wii Mote does seem pretty piss poor, compared to the 360.

I believe it's something like 20 or 25 hours, not much at all.

It is fairly poor, I don't think it's too awfully bad though. But I'm going to buy the play and charge kit for the Wii-motes that recently came out. I saw them at Circuit City the other day. 🙂

How much?

I think it was $35 or so for the one that lets you charge 2 at a time.

The one which only charges one at a time was $25.

I could be wrong though.

Oh yrah, I got a recharge station. Seriously, the Wii remote gobbles batteries like there is no tomorrow.

What brand of recharge station did you get? I've seen a couple on display, and I need to know how they stack up.

i hate how quickly the batteries burn, but i need save up for games more than i need to get the recharger.

i also think im gonna have forget buying christmas gifts, the wii is gonna run me dry with all the 4Q releases 🤪 😄

That's called selfishness...you would rather buy many games for you than buy gifts for others at Christmas time. ermm

I'll look into it.
