First of all, think before you post.

That was exactly what I was thinking when reading his posts, and now he's restricted...

Anyway, as for the discussion.

I don't really care who wins the war, I'm just happy there is a war, the more they have to fight to get the players, the more attention is payed to make great games, especially the exclusive games. So as long as there is a tight run for the market, we should be getting better games. Thus we should all be happy.

It starts competition and ups the anti for game developers to make good, quality games.

I just hope it does not become successful. 😐

Why do you hate the Playstation 3 so much?

That's a fair question. It's not as if the PS3 is hurting the concept of gaming. I am glad that Nintendo are doing as well as they are, being a Nintendo fan, but a strong Sony is part of a strong market. The Playstation has pushed gaming and continues to do so. If it fails, gaming takes a hit.

A big hit not really no, but with Nintendo around it would pic it back up, gaming was around before the PlayStation and it will still be around when the PS3 meets it's demise, Gaming was great before the PS3 and will continue to be when it sinks into the bargain bin.

Gaming was no where near as big before the PS as it is now. I dont like the PS3, but having it makes competition which forces all 3 consoles to push and innovate and try to one up each other.

Competition helps make gaming better, if you dont think so, look at the Madden games lately, now that 2K is gone the Madden games are shitty and stuck in neutral.

Like I said before.

Anyway I just hope the PS3 fails miserably, the only reason the PS1 was a success was because it was cheap, it used CD format and had all the exclusive games.

I adored the PS2, but I hope Sony learns from there mistakes with the PS3, instead of thinking they are now the gods of video game console making.

Maybe Sony will be humbled by this, and have to rethink things like Nintendo did. Nintendo was the same way after the SNES, they were the kings and believed they were untouchable, then with the 64 and Gamecube they stood by their guns and didnt change with times, for example cartridges for the 64.

Yep look at the gamecube, I guess it is the cycle, it will be Microsofts turn next, unless Sega go back to making consoles.

Even if Sony comes back to win this generation, which I highly doubt(but all these "analysts" seem to think they will), they lost a huge share of the market. The PS2 absolutely smoked everyone else, if Sony comes back, the race at the end will be tight.

Sony faltered before they begun, I can't see Sony wining this generation, I still have my bets on the 360 or perhaps the Wii how it is going at the moment.

PS1 wasn't cheap and when it started out it had crap games. It wasn't a success overnight.

Sony did definitely have a bit part in making gaming the big thing it is now. But now...I don't think the PS3 failing with have that much of an impact, really.

PS2 made gaming a popular consumer product it built up the gaming world, yeah I remember the PS1, it took a while but it was cheaper compered to other consoles, and you could hack it and get cheap games, at first it had moderate games but it built up a Ruperta.

Nah, actually it really wasn't cheaper than other consoles. It was cheaper than the Saturn, yes, but far more expensive than the N64. It was averagely-priced.

I guess it depends on where you are.

Standard retail price at launch. Stores can't charge anything but that without incurring a fine from Sony. The only way to have found it at a different price when it came out was a sale or one of those big unofficial bundle packs (which I don't recall really ever seeing then).

I mean in the world.

The prices translate rather the same across the board.

I know that the PS3 is dearer in some country's compered to others, America has it cheapest I think.

Yeah, I think so.

And considering how much it costs here...
