Peach, you said i can transfer my old hardrive to a new xbox? That's what i did with my last three xbox's but the people at Best Buy and Gamestop said that i can no longer do that because i have an older model and it's not compatible with the new models.
I did that very thing less than a month ago, and I got my Elite maybe 2 months after it came out.
i know this is a long shot, but anyways...
i was trying to help my brother sign up to xbox live tonight, and all seemed fine, until he was told he couldnt connect. so he did the tests, and only the xbox live one failed, as opposed to all the others, which passed.
anyone be able to suggest what might be wrong?
the support forums i went to weren't much help, tbh...

I think it was just timing. If only the XBL test failed, you should be fine.

Could simply be that Live was down when he tried. It's been kind of fickle lately, what with the update - I kept getting kicked off of Live all last weekend.
so just keep trying?

i'm glad i decided to check the net first because i was about to but an elite today 😂. With my last consoles i didnt need to buy a transfer kit or anything, i just had to swap the hard drives, thats all you did eh?

Yes, of course.Zack and Ast both said that's exactly what they've recently done 😛
yeah, i know but im just dumbfounded on why four different people, people who are far more familiar and experienced with gaming hardware told me otherwise. They had nothing to gain by doing so. I'm really P'oed 😠
thanks though 😂
Alright, I can't seem to figure this out, so I'll just post a question here. I've done this once before, however, I cannot remember how. Here goes...
I've got an xbox 360 and a Desktop PC w/ Windows XP Professional SP3, but I can't seem to get my xbox to run through the pc using the lan card to connect to the internet through my wireless. I've got my crossover cable, and I've enabled Internet Connection Sharing on my wireless... but for some odd reason, it isn't working. I've tried manually setting up all the specs, but that doesn't work as well. I also can't connect to my media sharing for some reason, and just all in all it's a pain in the ass. I've done it before, but I can't remember how (I just re-formatted this pc). If anyone out there knows of a way to connect to the internet through my pc to it's wireless connection without bridging (because that doesn't work either) then please, do tell. I'm getting frustrated and I can't run a cable to our router which is 2 floors up... >.> Thanks.
