Didn't you present a full concept though, with Story Conclusion and game art as well?

No, you don't go that in-depth until it's actually been chosen for development.

The initial concept is one or two sentences giving a very general idea of what the game would be like. The idea is something that will intrigue the boss in the time it takes to ride in an elevator with him.

If that works, then you're told to expand it into an actual design document. If that is accepted, then development begins.

That just means that he pitched an idea.

For something to be in development means it is a little further along than the idea stage.

Being in development means code is being written, budgets are being put aside, marketing is being thought up.

To be in development means a game is actually being developed, not just thought up.

I disagree, that's like saying a movie that is in pre-production is not in production simply because there is no shooting yet. Obviously you have to start somewhere.

So, if something was fully mapped out then it would be in development?

I assume by "post" you mean "post-production," which is utterly ridiculous as post-production happens after filming.

If the developer gave it a green light and said to go ahead and start making the game, then it would be in development.

I meant pre, sorry.

i'm thinking of picking up an FPS to play online on PC. just wondering what the most played ones are. is COD4 still played widely, or has WAW taken over? any other suggestions?

Team Fortress 2

Shadowrun

As Backfire said, TF2 is one of the most played on PC. Counter Strike Source probably has more.

A lot of the on-line games have an option to play in the same country or world wide. What determines where domestic gaming occurs? Where the person plays or the region of the game? For example, If I were to use an American Mario Kart in Japan and choose to option play only people in the same country, would the people I'd be playing be from America or Japan?

Japan, i think. it goes by your ISP, not your actual game, afaik...

Left 4 Dead is great as well.

i've played that on 360... hmm, maybe...

Still say Team Fortress 2, it's cheap, on sale right now on Steam actually - Only $9.99. It's a steal at that price.

Yeah, I saw that.

I'm just hoping for a sniper update. I'm wondering what they are going to do.

I dunno if they are planning to do it for each class. Last I heard they only were doing it for the classes that people didn't play very much. And sniper is one of the more popular classes, so who knows.

I thought that too.

One thing though is that scout is one of the more popular classes. More popular than demo-man. If they did it for all of them, I would think the next would demo, spy, engy, sniper and then soldier.

i was just wondering, can you hook up x-box 360 controller to the PC, and play any PC games?
