According to said poster KotOR 3 was mentioned in the book about Lucas Arts, I need to get me hands on this book to clarify.

"It seems like all the concept work for KOTOR 3 had been done. Storyline, location, designs and it was ready to go into full production but it was a casualty of Lucasarts 2004 shake up (the only games which survived were the ROTS movie game, Republic Comando and Battlefronts."

This is what I need to prove.

Yes, according to said poster, who, in the tradition of internet fanboys, may well have read things into the book that simply were not there.

That's why i need the book obviously...

And here is the review by Adventure Games, the exact quote as follows;
http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,962/p,2

"Lest the conspiracy theorists begin uniting, however, adventures were by no means the only genre represented on the cutting room floor, as a planned Diablo-killer called Justice Unlimited was among those that met an early demise. Even projects from the almighty Star Wars franchise – a shooter with a Wookiee as lead character (which, quite frankly, would have been incredibly cool); a stealth game starring C-3PO; a fairly substantial Knights of the Old Republic 3 RPG proposal, to name just a few – never saw the light of day. In fact, even in the early years a remarkably inventive “online community” game called Habitat was dropped, not because of potential failure but because of its overwhelming test success. A then-unheard-of precursor to today’s wildly popular MMOs, the game was simply too far ahead of its time for the Commodore 64 technology for which it was built. These insights may not ease the sting of lost adventures at all, but it’s a telling reminder of the complexities involved in a high-stakes industry."

A rejected proposal does not an actual game make. I wrote professional-style proposals in my very first game design course. Obviously, they were never made into games. Someone was eager to create a KotOR 3, but there is no reason to believe that it was ever actually worked on. In fact, it being alongside other concepts that we know from other sources to have never made it past the concept stage, that quote actually supports my assertion that while considered, KotOR 3 was never actually made.

I'm not jumping the gun. I will obtain the book, and post the actual source quotes. And then, I guess well just have to wait and see.

But the word substanial makes me feel like their was Art involved.

And ofcourse KotOR 3 was never actually made, otherwise it would be in my hands right now. This whole thing was to prove if it was ever in any form of conception.

Ahh, I see you've weakened your stance to the game merely being conceived. Smart.

Of course it was conceived; it's impossible that another installment of an inordinately successful series would not be.

My argument was, of course, that development on KotOR 3 never even started; that is, the project was never given a green light and no official development ever began.

I guess you could call that "common sense" like I mentioned a few pages back right. 😉

I suppose you could say "common sense," though I would say "money-grubbing."

Then again, I am cynical.

I'm not one of the judging types 😉

Question G.K?

You said you had made professional game proposals correct? In some way, wouldn't your game be in development? Very, very early yes. But in some sort of development nonetheless?

Professional-style proposals, for class. The sort of thing that you would present to a potential developer with an elevator pitch.

But no proposal is actually in development until it's picked up.

So concept isn't in the development phase?

I have several game concepts in my head. I even have one or two written down.

Obviously, they're not being developed, and likely never will be.

You need to have a concept to even create a proposal to attempt to get someone to pick up said concept and develop it.

This should be obvious.

Didn't you present a full concept though, with Story Conclusion and game art as well?

So you would go on and say concept is some sort of development if not pre-development stage?
