Ok, look, in the behind the scenes footage, we have Dooku fighting with two sabres, yeah? At one point, one if the sabres is yanked out of his hand. So a fair gguess is that he is either throwing it at someone or having it pulled out of his hand (something that has never happened with a sabre so far).

But I was wondering if that might actually be Dooku pulling the second sabre TO his hand, and the way they do those shots is to yank them out of the actor's hand, with wire or something, and simply show the sequence backwards.

Might be.

Or maybe not; it's just a vague idea.

Where do you come up with this stuff, Ush?

Check your SW news sites. And the pics that are around. Then add some knowlegde about fimmaking and mix it with some common sense.

The saber to the hand effect is probably a little bit of interpolation, some normal Visual Effects (comp effects) and probably just a device out of the camera's range...all speculation, looks cool as sh!t though.

Anyway, looks to good to be a reverse shot, unless they spent that much time trying to get it to look right in a scene.

THE SABERS:

Dooku pulls the blue saber from Anakins severed arm.

--This is Obi-Wan's replacement saber, as he received it after they took his away in the ARENA. Anakin's is Green and he was Force thrown the other one by Obi-Wan.

So Dooku is using Obi-Wan's temporary replacement that Anakin used when he went Akimbo (two weapons).

I can tell this from the pics I've seen from the VD, and other books:

Dooku gets the RED SABER KNOCKED AWAY in the original cut, and uses the Blue saber, then he does the pilar(sp?) thing to get away.

BTW, in the original cut, we don't get to see Yoda absorb the lightning, in fact no lightning use at all; Yoda just pops in and ignites his saber and blocks some blows from Dooku...then he says Much to learn you have, etc. and Dooku goes akimbo, etc.

Cool, but the final cut is still sweet IMO, and you can tell they did that at the last minute--not like it looked bad, but all (correct me if I'm wrong) books are wrong on the fight.

BTW, just pointing out something, I don't understand how some people can't grasp this concept:

Anakin and Obi-Wan both have blue lightsabers , the ones that they actually made (assumed, at least the ones they own).

I think the movie could have went to three hours, and although the romance scenes weren't brilliant, they were OKAY and I that would have been cool to see the space battle, although I have no problems with that being cut out, hell the land battle already shows the intensity of the situation.

BTW, was anyone else slightly disturbed by C-3PO's hidden climbing talents...THE FORCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE 😉
(kinda bothered me that the Special Efx ppl did this--actually the first time the PT bothered me, I can look over it, but there was abs. no point to showing threepio being able to climb, IMO, looked too mobile, go figure)

--Edit, although there were a lot of behind the scenes things in TPM, I hope they show some more stuff in AOTC (DVD)

especially some more deleted scenes, and HOPEFULLY Lucas will at least allude to why he cut out the Lost Twenty scene.
