Just as a person's exprience, skill, or ability qualifies them for a particular job, one's spiritual gift (or gifts) qualify them to stand in a specific ministry office.
Hmm.
I do not think that is doctrinal.
Are you familiar with Mark 2:21 and 22?
"No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.
And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles."
God does not call an old man who has been a TV preacher for decades, to take up a calling in the gospel (at least, not usually). That would be putting new wine into old bottles.

Just as you do not have to teach a rooster to crow, you do not have to teach a preacher to preach. If the preach or teach is in them it will come out. But the ability to teach or preach is a manifestation of the Spirit (i.e. the Holy Spirit).
The parable of the talents was lost on you, apparently. 🙁

Joseph Smith's teachings showed him to be a cult leader and not a true minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How so? Because we have higher education levels than the US average? Because we donate more to charity than any other religion? Because our "in-faith" marriages are less likely to end in divorce than the US Average? Because Mormons are the second happiest demographic in the US (behind Jews...which I find awesome)?
So it seems that 'by their fruits shall ye know them' is quite realized in Mormonism. Seems your logic for why Mormonism is "of the devil" is the same exact reason it is not: you just don't know enough about Mormonism to make any sort of reasonable or qualified statements about it.
That's okay: Mormons are a widely misunderstood people mostly due to the anti-Mormon rhetoric that is almost 200 years old.
