He is. His death was talked about for a while and if you ever watch the Colbert Report which is becoming an iconic show on its own you will see his Shield in the background.

2. Thing is though that Superman does most of what he does and charges head first into danger because he is superman, he has powers and abilities to back up his willpower. Rogers does it because it is the right thing to do, he is a human. He faces villainy and omnipotence in the face and shows no fear. Do you think that Clark would try to be the hero that he is if he grew up under a red sun and not know of his powers? True he would still be a good guy, he would just be a normal law abiding citizen though. Rogers has the utmost respect and admiration from a God who considers Rogers his best friend.

Look dude, until Captain America is a house hole name which all the characters even the villains are noticed. Then Superman is the iconic all american hero.

Superman is more well known to the general public than Captain America. So is Batman. So is Spidey, even, imo...

Saying that Captain America is somehow more heroic because he doesn't have the same powers as Superman is a poor way of arguing, imo, when you take in to consideration the kind of enemies Superman fights...

Even though unfortunately Superman in the media is reduced to only a long running television series that mangles the mythology for the most of it (Smallville) and a poorly received forgettable recycled quality of a 20 year film (Superman Returns) that doesn't mean he's still not the top hero.

Say whatever you want about Smallville, but that's the only "Superman" that's represented in the public's mind now anymore.

The top 3 most known superheroes will always be

1. Superman
2. Batman
3. Spider-Man

If Superman wanted so he could take over the world and rule it with an iron fist instead of that he chooses to protect us from evil. That's what makes him to greatest hero ever.

I still say both steve rogers and superman are the ultimate heroes. they embody excatly what being a hero is

He deffinately is, he was the first and hes the one who when everythign is gong wrong all the other heros look up 2 !!

Current Superman can't take over the world if he wanted. SHAZAM Marvel would stop him everytime, there are too many heroes that would stop him.

but yeah, in the dominus arc, superman pretty much takes over the world. the jla even tries to stop him.

he doesn't have to do most of the fighting, as he has an army of superman robots. he does fight orion one on one, though. don't recall if marvel was there, as its been a while since i read it...
