Oh. I barely use the magnum. I use it to finish Salazar, and a bit on 'It'.I use the knife to fight Krauser.
I usually have plenty of ammo for U3, and Salazar. I pummel U3 after the rig part, I usually use 2 magnum bullets to get him away from me on the rig. Than I usually dont even use 6 bullets on Normal on the 2nd part of the fight. I use the magnum when Krauser chases you before he transforms, so he quickly tosses the flash grenade and leaves the area so I can continue.

I don't know much about it, no, but spoilers have never bothered me in the least, I'm the kind of person who usually seeks them out, in fact. And I'm thinking I'll just wait until I get a Gamecube to play RE4.

It's purely up to you, both versions cost the same. The biggest difference is the extras, much less the SMALL change in graphical detail.

The graphics and controls are noticeably more troublesome on the PS2 version. Very unresponsive. I'm not judging the game by the graphics, I still love the original Metal Gear and it's graphics are lame now. I'm just saying, considering the fact that the comparisons made are between the Cube and the PS2, it's only fair we include every aspect. The graphics are nowhere near as smooth, the controls are unresponsive and stiff. As for the less/more ammo, it's clear you are both getting different amounts. Victor got a lot on the PS2, you got not as much. The conclusion to be drawn is that it differs, not that the PS2 has less. I don't understand where that comes from. The items differ, on both versions. I played through the boiler room bit JUST before you first meet Krauser, five times. Three times I got money, twice I got ammo. It's been different each time. It's also not a decider.
As stated before, the torch does nothing at all. Not a thing. When you're walking through the tunnels and waterways, you have default additional lighting anyway. It's never pitch black, so the torch is pointless.
As for these new guns, they're not even in the game. Well, guns? You mean gun. There's just one and it's not even readily available. What was the point in that? Never seen such an anti-climatic thing in my life. It's like the taser from Syphon Filter, just beefed up a bit.
As Victor said before me, the only thing that makes this game good is the fact that it's a port from one of the best games ever. It's Resident Evil, minus the greatness, plus an unlockable gun and side-game.
Should have just left it as it was.

P.R.L. 412, Ada's Pump-Action Shotgun, and Bowgun with explosive arrows, that looks like multiple new gunS to me.
Graphics shouldn't make or break a game, this is why games on N64, SNES, Nintendo, etc, are much better than games these days. Nothing is subtracted unless you are anal enough to pick through an entire game for small differences. One unlockable gun, an additional scenario with extended areas, and story elements, and two new weapons. A movie browser to view all movies in the game.
I see no problem with the controls, since I still have the Ps1 trilogy, and have no problems with the controls. X is a fine action button, triangle is perfect for menu, start is map, circle commands already, square to run. The hardest part when you go from the Gamecube version to the Playstation 2 is realizing when aiming with the right analog stick it is tighter on the playstation 2 controller. It doesn't make everything stiff and unresponsive.
And another note to your complaining over the P.R.L. RE has always had guns you had to unlock by beating the game by time, or multiple times, I don't see how this is any different than before.
Have you even seen the P.R.L. in action? The tazer in Syphon Filter is like a child's toy compared to the P.R.L. When you tap the button all enemies infront of you are blinded and hurt by the flash unlike the flash grenade which is just blinding. The charge shot rips through the enemy, and for enemies like the El Gigante, it lifts the Plaga from his back and takes damage from the beam as it hits it.

Whoa, you look for spoilers. Well you must really want this game to be buying/getting a new system for it.
I want an Xbox 360, but I won't be able to get it until christmas, because I know my mom won't give it to me until then and I know i'm not gonna buy it myself, so I'm stuck. B/c everybody else is gonna play it immediately as soon as it comes out and I will be behind in everything.
is it comprehensible.....

I was just saying it's up to you, and Ps2 has LOTS of great games! 😛

Was Final Fantasy X your first Final Fantasy game? It was my first.
So do you think you'd have a PS2 if not for that game and do you think you'd be getting a Gamecube so soon if not for Resident Evil 4?
Did you play Final Fantasy X-2?

New in what way? The laser is the only newly created gun. You get a shotgun, so? You get them in every RE. You get the bowgun in Code Veronica. The only new gun is the laser and it's a let down. A shit gun. It has to be unlocked also, so it's not even readily available.

Movie browser doesn't make the game either. Why is it amazing that you can go back and watch what you just saw? The novelty is gonna wear out faster than an Ashlee Simpson applause.
Graphics shouldn't make the game, hence why I said they don't. The FACT of the matter is, games companies have tech at their disposal to MAKE incredible graphics, to iron out all the glitches and jagged edges. RE 4 on PS2 doesn't have small differences. The major atmospheric areas lack definition, it's hugely obvious to anyone who has played it on Cube. The framerate IS factually slower, the characters are jagged. The torch that you love so much is not only useless, but was already on the Cube's Assignment Ada. So minus one originality point.
There's ONE new weapon to the series, ONE. The laser, and it's shit. It's also unlockable, which defeats the purpose. It's the same game, the gun makes no difference. Why? Because you can't get the gun until you've played THROUGH the game. So if you are excited over getting a newly named shotgun and a bowgun that had already been and gone on the Dreamcast, fill your boots. Me? I'm not so easily impressed.

To you, no. To me it does. You don't seem to be able to comprehend the fact that people might view the PS2 version as shit, for good reason based on experience. The fact that you ignore doesn't mean it isn't there.

Exactly, it's no different than before. At all, is it? You use this gun as a plus to why the game is better, but the game doesn't even involve the gun.

Did I say it was equal? No. Did I say it was essentially a beefed up version of? Yes.
I have seen everything you have, and I still think the game is shit when compared to the Cube version. It's not a shit game, just shit compared to the game they ported.

The other games have more panic factor I think. You should play them in sequence if you get the chance.
I was playing it in early morning with a friend at a sleepover(everyone else was still sleeping) and we were in the Elevator hallway. Lightning flashes and I see a zombie's face.
I say: "What the hell, there's a zombie there?"
He says: "Don't BS. I didn't see anything."
"Wait, watch right there. Next lightning flash will show it.
Lightning flashes.
"Wait a minute, what the hell was that?"
"I dunno."
"Let's confrim before - "
Hands reach out of the darkness.
" - SHOOT, DAMN YOU!"
