Resident Evil 4 on Ps2

I can't believe how hard Professional was for me the first time, it's so much easier the 2nd time. 😛

I found Pro to be much more of a challenge, but good fun.

I didn't find it especially hard because I always play the game in a 'realistic' manner, eg trying to separate the villagers, take them out, and slowly move on to the next few.

I find it a much more fun experience that way. It's also the way suited to Pro level.

It reminded me a little of Goldeneye/Perfect Dark. If you play on 00 Agent (Goldeneye) or Perfect Agent (Perfect Dark), it makes the 'stealth' in MGS seem like hiding a birthday present from Stevie Wonder.

I found it a little silly that you had all the money and all your items after you completed the game for the first time. Enjoying a challenge, I stuck with the Red9 for the first few chapters(excluding when taking out Mr.Chainsaw)

If anything that's better than some unlockable BS. They have good unlockables but I found the coolest reward was to start your second go around with the stuff you earned.

Only special weapon I like is the Chicago Typewriter.

"Weeeeeheeheehee!"

I went crazy with it.

I found Pro irritating my first round.

I mean come on, the villagers take a point-blank shotgun shell to the body and still stand up, and they fly on the second one? Get the hell outta here, thats just madness.

I just tried to never use the handgun on villagers, and stuck to the shotgun and grenades. I managed to take out 9 villagers with one grenade in the beginning on this game, pretty sweet explosion with blood in the middle and corpses flying.

Alright...you win....Aztec on 00 Agent reminded me of the pain I went through....yes....you do win. That almost ruined my youth. 😛

Haha. The level with the computers was annoying. I forget the name.

It's ok using the handgun on villagers if you don't get outnumbered. Just go for quick headshots and kicks, then knife attack while they are down.

That's why I end up continually selling ammo, life and grenades to the merchant.

On a side note, which handgun do you use? If it's not the red9, maybe that's why.

Red9 is the only choice.

Red9 kicks ass. It was the only handgun i used, lasted me through about 85% of the game.

What guns do people generally use?

I always end up with the same collection at the end.

I used the blacktail for the most part because it looked mad and used less space. Though I used the red9 by recommendation and now use it all the time. It feels like every bullet counts and is fatal.

I get tempted to use the riot shotgun over the striker because it looks better, but I end up using the striker. I can take or leave the mine thrower. The semi-automatic rifle is a must through.

I get the Punisher for free from the merchant, selling the original handgun. Then I sell the Punisher for the red9.

I get the shotgun off the wall in the first village, sell that for the Riot shotgun, then sell that for the Striker.

I get the crap rifle but sell it as soon as the Semi-auto comes up.

I always buy the Mine Launcher, some parts of the game literally ask for it.

I get the free Broken Butterfly.

I never buy the TMP.

I bought the TMP first time around but it's really impractical. If machine guns are your thing you might as well not waste the space and just get the Chicago Typewriter after working for it.

-AC

I use handgun up until the Red9 is available, and buy all 4 of the first upgrades for the shoot out with Luis.

I leave the shotgun alone, no upgrades. I use an RL on the Village Chief, I sell the shotgun for the Riot Gun, buy the Broken Butterfly, and Semi-Auto Rifle as soon as I enter the castle.

I use the BB on the first blind claw guy to kill him in 2 bullets.

I use the riot/rifle for the crank part w/ Ashley.

I begin to slowly upgrade the BB and save it for Chapter 4-4. If I am lucky and have the BB to 28.0, and have the XL case. I use 4-5 bullets on Salazar and end him, if it is not 28.0, I use an RL.

I altered my strategy from a speed run I did,it has helped me get barely over 5 hours, and I am going for less currently.

My final inventory:
Red9/Stock
Riot Gun
Semi-Auto/Scope
BB
an RL [when needed]
grenades etc

*stands up and claps* amen to that im still workingg on pro mode

I plan on getting this game within the next month or so. Anyone wanna tell me how good it is/what to expect?

It's very good, one of the very best action/survival horror games out there. Expect tons of fun.

If you even remotely enjoyed the previous RE games then you will love this one.

It's one of the best games I've ever played. It will also live up to this hyping, unlike many games I could mention.

It's true, it will live up to the hype. Victor hyped it to me beyond belief and I was truly prepared for a great game, though nothing comparing to the hype.

It surpassed the hype.

Guys, quick question...

I just finished my first round in the main game, I start Separate Ways...where do I put my save point, in a new space or my finished "new round" space?

And, once I start anotehr new game in the main game, do I play a new game or load the game slot and then play?

Thanks guys...

Quick question. I am now playing through the game for the second time. I have about 920000 pstas now and I am going to buy one of the one million pstas weapons. What should I get? The Infinite Launcher sounds fun, yet it takes a lot of inventory space (I might not need much space once I have it).
