Well an interesting way to look at pokemon is:
"You know those great big mythical beasts of various cultures? The kinds that either helped to create, or are something that runs a menace? The great nine tailed demon fox of Naruto, the Chinese phoenix of chinese legend. Creatures like that? Yeah, we carry those things around in a little ball, and they answer to OUR commands."
Kind of sets up a skewed power scale doesn't it?
