Yeah, Saw 3 shouldn't have anything to do with Saw 2, as Saw 2 had nothing to do with Saw 1.
I agree about your second statement too. I guess Darren Bousman just found a smoother way to put the traps in the story rather than random flashbacks like in the first.
Well, we'll see. I have faith in the Twisted Pictures crew to make yet another awesome Saw movie.
