Well, I know that it is a city, therefore it can be a bit more dangerous. But you also aren't a woman, so your life is a lot less threatened, regardless. I am not going full American right now. If I was, I'd say carry a gun and kill all people that aren't white.

It's pretty safe. My girlfriend is American and she says she feels pretty safe walking around by herself. I guess it's less safe for tourists because there's a lot of pickpockets and stores/restaurants that scam tourists in the centre. And then there's some areas that have a lot of gypsies that are considered less safe. Also Central Station is filled with junkies and bums. haermm
