Originally posted by MooseyI've had an American mate visit me before when I lived in the Lake District, and he says it's the most beautiful place he's ever visited. Beating pretty much all of Europe and some of Africa and South America. I'm not well travelled at all, so I couldn't say, but still, that's pretty high praise
I actually like the idea of being in the English countryside. I don't know why...it appeals to me.
Originally posted by Ms ChelleYou'd like where I live now, I reckon. Horsforth, just outside of Leeds. Lovely little town/suburb, 10 mins on the train from the city. But when it comes to landscapes, the Lakes win out. There's a sweet ****in' horizon at every turn
I think I'd choose somewhere on the outside of Manchester. Not directly in the big city but close enough for a short ride if I felt like going. Some of my closest friends live in Kent which seems ok..I'd be up for the Preston area too.
So, where I live - is literally ALL named after towns etc from England.
I'm in Chatham (Ontario) where we have the Thames River running through our downtown. London is 50 mins from here where the same river flows. My town is in the county of Kent, Windsor is 45 mins away, which is in the county of Essex.
So, it's KIND of like living in the UK
