The term 'straight edge', coined by Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat, Embrace, Fugazi, and currently The Evens, was used in reference to him having the 'straight edge' over other punk singers, i.e. he didn't slur/forget his words (looking at you, Darby Crash) or act like a knob on stage (seriously Darby Crash, seriously).
So, W, how exactly does your straightness have an edge over us? crackers
Originally posted by SelphieJealous! I quit for nearly two years (19 months iirc) at one point, but I picked it back up because I had a really shitty job and smoking enabled me to get more breaks. I totally felt a difference in that time! But I did realise that I never stopped thinking about smoking. My mum says that even 20 years after quitting smoking she still thinks about it...
Scribs, I've been cig free for a while now, maybe a year and a half now??I feel much better!! Less gunky lungs, less breast/lung pains, no more constant lougies in the morning....
I def think about cigs a lot, like when I'm stressed, but eh, it's def an addiction
I'm defo going to quit after uni, I tried quitting last year towards the end of the last semester and I went two weeks, but the stress got to me. Once uni is over I think I'll be in the right place to sack it off again.
Seriously though well done! Keep it up aw00t
