Unlocking the full potential of the human brain
This branch of fringe science stems from the hypothesis that the human brain is infinitely capable, but certain social and physical factors prohibit us from reaching our full potential. We humans have been using drugs in an attempt to access our whole brains for about as long as we’ve been on this planet.
Bio weaponization is nothing new. During the Middle Ages, invading armies would fling plague-ridden corpses over castle walls. Jeffrey Amherst, infamous racist douchebag, goes down in history for giving Native Americans blankets covered in smallpox germs to “Extirpate this Execrable Race.”
Lucky for us there’s no disease that turns humans into flesh eating zombies. Yet.
Teleportation is the instantaneous travel from point to point within this universe, as well as forward or backwards in space and time.
In 1997 scientists made a huge breakthrough in teleportation when they discovered quantitative entanglement, or the ability to use a pair of electrons to move information over huge distances.
As of 2014, physicists have only teleported subatomic particles, but they speculate that in the next few decades they’ll be able to transport something as big as a molecule.
M theory math and the many-worlds interpretation of quantum physics implies that whatever could possibly happen does happen, and that any type of universe you can imagine (so long as it operates within a certain set of laws) exists.
Which means that somewhere out there, there might be another Earth, and there might be another you, and that other you might be evil, and he/she might come here and assume your personality and commit some atrocious crime and ruin your life forever. Just one possibility.
Einstein is responsible for this one. He proved in his Special Theory of Relativity that objects in motion actually do experience time differently than their stationary counterparts. And the faster an object is moving, the more time slows down.
Basically what this means is that when you’re our for a run, or flying in a plane, the hands on your watch actually move slower than when you’re standing still. Since we move at such a sluggish pace (relative to the speed of light) the change is generally imperceptible.
This phenomenon was proved to be true when when scientists sent atomic clocks up into space on a fast moving rocket ship. When the ships returned to Earth, the clocks were behind those on the ground.
