And PVS is right, 10 billion dollars in profits for an industry that has suspicious connections to the white house and the current administration? That's coincidental, I'm sure. And Europe has had higher fuel prices since as far back as I can remember. The first time I traveled to London, in high school, I was astounded by the prices. Even then, in '98, the prices were triple what they were in the States. Everytime I've been back, they were higher and higher.
As I said in my first post, the US should have gotten it's ass in gear in teh 70's when we had our first middle-east induced gas shortage. But, the problem today isn't that the middle east is cutting our supply, it's the oil companies being allowed to rape us with government support.
PVS, if you had an alternative to gas powered transportation...would your commuter problems be anywhere near as expensive?
