Oh dear god, firstly gratitude for Overlord for defending me, secondly for kingkman, I meant the actual character of Maul, not his 'Ub3r PwnZ3r' ability or fanboys pornography as it were.
Maul is an incredibly lame character, having to be given a "special" lightsaber because there is really not that much interesting or scary about him.
Ok, Maul would lose, pretty much as the whole thread has evidence that he will.
Given a lightsaber to make him cool? I'm not sure about that, I think the dual-bladed lightsaber was just something cool Lucas thought of and incorporated it into the movie through Maul. I don't think it was specifically made for him.
As to some of the arguments here, I believe that Maul was superior to both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in TPM. He underestimated Obi's skills and made a stupid, arrogant mistake. The same type of thing that made Anakin lose to Obi-Wan. I actually think this is a closer battle than some people are giving it credit for.
In my opinion Anakin wins this because while he may be arrogant and foolish in a fight, Maul is not the type of combantant who would exploit that weakness. The duel would be close but Anakin has much more power with the Force and much more experience from fighting in the Clone Wars and fighting against powers like Dooku and Ventress.
Anakin takes it but Maul deserves SOME credit.

hes not the lamest IMO, even though he's probably the weakest sith in the PT and OT movie series of star wars, that still doesnt mean hes the lamest character....he was a highly trained sith assasin with skills impeccable compared to ne1 who had dualed a lightsaber, it takes skill to use a dual-blade, and thats what he did...and plus, maul is fearless, the man without fear in star wars and has an ability to oppress it upon his opponents.....but yes, he would still get beat by pre-suit vader

Braz, being a skilled assassin with a double bladed lightsaber does not make a good character. Maul was useless, he had no depth, nothing interestinbg about him. He is dull and lame.
And Maul fearless? Who needs to be fearful when you have legions of little kids with Maul masks on running around, brandishing double bladed toy sabers.
Vader does win this, almost by default.
Wow, Exanda is like murdering Maul with insults. Of course, if we are judging by the Maul we saw on TPM, then Vader wins no doubt. Of course, if Maul had survived the encounter on TPM then perhaps he could have been a good deal stronger, yet he died "sigh" But then if you're using the word IF, then a number of possibilities occur. Therefore, I must say that Vader would kill Maul, probably after a minute's duel.

Look you idiot I wasn't saying that Maul would beat Vader because I know he cannot, I was saying that Maul is not as bad as you are making him out to be.

Thing is, Maul is really a pointless character who does nothing for SW in terms of quality, but thats for another debate; if you took the time to read the posts you'd see that Vader has already killed a clone of Maul when he was in an unstable state, but i supposed you were busy by your lecturn 🙄 ...
...therefore it would be safe to presume that me saying "Maul sucks" is not actually a point, merely an opinion.
...is there actually any disagreement that Maul would lose? The last couple of pages have just been banter...
