Still most people who weren't SW fan didn't understand shit from TPM. You are just thrown into a story; there is a fued.. there is some jedi council.. there is the chosen one legend.. there is sith and jedi.. there is jar jar the screaming alien..

To us it was simple to figure out what the timeset and terms being used were but to most people it was confusing and weird as hell.

Also.. What did it exactly mean to the overall SW story? It introduced Qui-Gon and Maul and they both died and introducing little Vader, Palpatine getting a greater political function and meeting the jedi council were real small aspects of the movie wich could have just as easily be thrown into any other movie.

I know it's hard for fans to understand but most of the scripts of the PT were pretty bad. It's only the fight scenes that were entertaining.

And oh yeah, gee, Star Wars scripts are bad. Well, let me be the first to alert the media! A certain Harrison Ford was saying the same thing back when they were shooting the original. The scripts are space fantasy/buck rogers type stuff! Lucas freely admits he wrote space opera! *Yawn* wake me up when you've got something new to rip the Prequels about. What is the point of bitching and bickering? It's not our film. Although Attack of the Clones tends to drag, it's not an unbearable film. Its relevance in the overall Anakin Arc is the love story, obviously.

Each prequel episode is equal to a step in Anakin's Hero Journey, while the Originals intertwine Anakin's fate with the three steps of Luke's journey, in order to make them a complete story about Anakin.

Bad acting is part of Star Wars and so is bad dialogue. Its the narrative formula of TPM and AotC which makes it seem rushed and, lets be honest, pungent turd...

Honestly have you people no imagination - all of TPM and AotC could have been implied in RotS - say if they'd just expanded upon a few scenes. Of course the Order 66 scene would be less dramatic, but that would make 1 bad film and 3 decent SW films in the saga; instead of 3 decent SW films, 1 half-decent one and 2 rubbish ones.

Again your opinion, and I disagree with it.

ROTS itself wasn't long enough to fit as much as should have been in it, to have additional scenes to "imply" things that happened within 19 years worth of time would not be possible unless it was LOTR length, prolly longer, which is stupidly long for a movie. (and the implied scenes would have been far less effective, possibly not effective at all)

plus I've heard that Lucas doesn't do flashbacks in his movies either.

to do what you said would be possible if a) ROTS was a 3 and a half hour movie with flashback scenes (that GL wouldn't do anyways) or b) a movie with dialogue that implies things which would make the events completely irrelevant (such as in ANH and the clone wars before the PT was released) it meant nothing and would just come off as filler to give some slightly BSed information to the audience. thats not what the PT was about, it was meant to show anakins slide to the darkside, wouldn't be possible without the TPM or AOTC.

the PT isnt about Darth Vader, its about Anakin Skywalker.

Well, here we go again. How about some more "unneeded comments." (Of course I'm back; I'm the Prequel Defender.) How about instead of mocking me you try to defend your own tenous positions, without resorting to insults, name-calling and other blusterous hot air? It only detracts from your own weak points.

AOTC will NOT be re-done. Eps 10, 11 and 12 will be finished before they ever "re-do" ep 2. Of course Lucas will tweak it in the coming years, it was tweaked before it came to the Imax theaters even before it came to home video. To actually want it re-done is laughable I'm afraid. Forget it.

I've re-read pert-near every post looking for reasons why it seems rushed to some here. All I can offer is a big fat so what? Just because it "seems" rushed doesn't mean it is. I would completely disagree with any thoughts that it is "rushed". For one thing it's a comment that really hardly says anything. For another, they had 3 years to make it. That's a lot of quality time in it. There is great care taken in AOTC. Sure there are some clumsy spots, but there's not a film that's been made that could not have been made better with more money and more time, and unless you want the films released every 5 years, you simply do your best. Lucas thought and took his time in it. Thirdly, there's Lucas' tried and true actor's direction, "Faster, more intense," which the OT actors loved to rib Lucas about... it is supposed to be rushed. It is supposed to have a fast tone in parts, and it does. In TPM, they say "We haven't much time" at least twice! Lucas is always trying to speed things up.

AOTC is about two major plot points: Anakin & Padme falling in love, and the beginning of the end of the republic. It's an odd duality, by causing A & P to fall in love, it dooms the republic but later rescued with their children. I loved watching Palpatine weave his legacy of destruction and discovering the truth on how he came to power. Great political machination stuff because there's not too much of it.

And Chinabing, we know that they will never be remade. We are criticising the way the whole PT was structured which makes makes it seem poorer than the OT and many other films.
When has GL ever done anything the fans wanted?

Also, if you read back far enough, you will realise that even I disagree that AotC, if not the whole PT, was rushed. They were not rushed; they were merely unsuccesful in endearing the hearts of the western world like the OT was.

You can't summarise episodes 1 and 2, because Qui-Gon introduced Anakin to the force and the council and Obi-Wan can't just say "oh it was my master who introduced him, and he would of trained him but he died by Darth Maul killing him." and HOW THE HELL CAN YOU SUMMARISE CLONE TROOPERS AND PALPATINE BEING CHANCELLOR? They're too major. GL already had ideas about eps 1, 2 and 3 before he even thought about ep 4 that's why it' episode 4. So stop saying that. If what you're saying is true then why isn't ROTS ep 0 ANH ep1 ESB ep 2 and ROTJ ep 3? OH yeah, it would look stupid and isn't what GL wants. AOTC is like how ROTS started and TPM is how SW started okay so shut the hell up.

AOTC was rushed. You're not much of a fan if you keep saying it's really good. Real fans can see bad things in films and don't just say it's brilliant. You need to realise how it was rushed and actually listen to what peple have to say okay?

Now I hope you three read this post because it's one of the longest I've made and I won't take any notice if you continue to cause trouble on this here thread. AOTC needs a do-over because it's bad and not the SW we all love. No action, no comedy, hardly any lightsaber action. Darth Tyranus never shut the hell up! He was only good for a five minutes and that was it. So I think you should all take complete and full notice on this. I'm not trying to change your minds, I'm just proving a point. The end.
