The Phrase that Pays
She smirked, obviously striking his anger as he stormed off. He had been saying things like that for the past months and she knew he would always care, it was sadly something he always did. Alex raised her head a little as she sensed Chases deadly smell drifting farther away. Pondering on what he had said about "changing" someone else broded at her as she walked back out into the mass of students. Any one of them could be her possible comapnion. But if she were to do this correctly, or well... nicely, she would have to pick someone that seemed to already have a lost soul, someone who needed to be reborn and start their life in a different way, someone like...Him.
A tall blank-expressioned boy passed by her as she walked with the crowd. He was unexplainably gorgeous with his ruffled red-brown hair and stunning green eyes, and Alex followed him into the Three Broomsticks. She looked around, wondering if he was here to meet anyone, but he ended up sitting alone at a table in the corner and she was more than delighted. She wondered if she could condemn something so beautifu, so mysterious to such a hell, it was almost not fair for her to end this life of his. Alex sat in the opposite corner, ordering nothing of course and watching the boy out of the corner of her eye. He was almost too magnificent to be real...A little piece of heaven sent for her hell. Turning to face him he must've noticed her watching him as he too looked up and their eyes met. It was almost as if he had poured ice cold water over her, and her stomach seemed to be doing flips. Alex smiled sheepishly, it being rare for her to not be confident. He smiled back at her, slight questioning in his eyes.
She stood up, moving across the room to sit by him. He slid his chair closer to her, and as if they were old friends he gently put a warm arm around her. Putting his lips to her ear, she shuddered as he whispered the words "I know."
