Chase arrived at his sister's house to find the door askew and covered with blood. He withdrew his wand and rushed inside. He found his sister on the floor and heard fighting from upstairs. He ran to his sister and saw she was simply knocked out. He ran upstairs to find Axel and a kid fighting with, what else, fencing swords. That caught Chase off guard but he quickly regained his composure and disarmed the two.
"What the hell is going on?" He said, ready to kill them both.
Axel looked from the kid to Chase and then grabbed his wand and blew a hole in the wall.
"I don't have time to deal with you, Brother!"
And he jumped out and disappeared. The kid stared in awe but then realized Chase was still there. He pulled out a .44 Special Revolver that looked ancient and aimed it at Chase's heart.
"Who are you!?!?" The kid shouted. "What are you!?"
Chase merely looked at the kid and recognized his face from the paper. It was the kid that killed Borris! Chase raised his wand and pointed it at the kid.
"I'm Chase Cartier of the D'Arque Cl....I'm Chase Cartier of Hogsmeade. I am a wizard in my last year at Hogwarts. Who are you?"
The kid looked shocked but composed himself.
"I'm Marcus Riaden from America! I have come in search of the ones who killed my father! He was a wizard too. He died when i was just a fetus. My mom told me... Are you one of his killers?"
Chase laughed at the kid and disarmed him. He put away his wand and drew his dagger. He knocked the kid down and put his dagger to his throat.
"I didn't kill him but I will kill you if you dont stop bothering me, you squib!"
Marcus tried to get away but he couldn't. He spit in Chase's face and said, "I'm not a squib, you bastard!!!! Get off me!"
Chase raised the dagger and was about to strike when he heard someone scream out.
"Don't kill him, Chase! Don't! Think of his last name! Riaden! Ring a bell?"
Chase pulled the dagger back and almost fainted. How did he not see it before? Riaden. His former life's last name was Raiden. He looked to the stairs and saw his sister.
"You get it now? He's your son!"
Edward climbed the stairs to his dorm, an empty feeling draining him of any other emotion. He shoved past a group of first years at the bas of the stares, but ignored the dirty looks. He looked frantically around the room then noticed a dark grey barn owl perched on the end of his bed with a letter in its beak. His heart sank into his stomach.
Opening it slowly and with great care, he took out the small piece of parchment and read it over.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
It couldn't possibly be true. Why? he asked himself. His grandfather-dead. Edward could barely let himself even think the word. It wasn't real. But the perfect cursive writing on the paper seemed to condemn any doubt and wish that it wasn't true. He breathed in heavily, trying to sort everything out. Useless. He wiped hot tears away from his dark eyes and headed back outside for fresh air.

Alex walked steady with the crowd around her, making sure not to follow any one too long for she hated annoyance of having to talk to them. Mostly just strolling along, picking up a few familiar scents, and some delicious new ones, yet none that seemed to to spike her interest enough to find the source. It was odd for her not to crave the unsuspecting humans, but she didn't notice. Edward was on her mind.
And that was more than enough to keep her occupied for any length of time.
She breathed sharply as an arm wrapped around her waist from behind and pulled her close to a warm body. Being obviously too occupied at the thought of Edward she hadn't sensed him near which was... different. Ignoring all the stares and whispers, Edward pulled her close, his other hand playing with the hair. He gently kissed the base of her neck, Alex completely became seduced by him. Edward turned her to face him, embracing her and putting his warm lips to hers of cold pale pink.
Chase got up and staggered to the wall. His head was spinning. None of it made sense, yet, in a very odd way, it did. His old life, Leon, had been 39 when he died. He had been married and had evedently impregnated his wife just days before he was killed. Leon's conscience took over the body of his father's next-born son, Chase. But Leon's wife lived to give birth to Marcus, Leon's son. Also making him, in a complicated way, Chase's son.
Marcus scurried away and ran down the stairs and onto the street before Chase could compose himself. Sabrina came to him and comforted him.
"There, there brother. Everything's okay. You didn't know...."
"But he's my son! We're the same damn age! It's just not possible...."
Chase pushed her away. He had to talk to someone. To Raven. He turned to his sister.
"Come with me to Hogwarts. You'll be safe there."
He held out his hand, hoping the new headmaster wouldn't mind giving board to her She simply noded.
"Okay...."
She took his hand and he apparated to the to the train station. He told her to stay there and he went in search of Alex and Ed. He say them kissing and he ran to them.
"Edward!"
Edward pulled slowly away from Alex as he heard his name. He put a finger to her lips as she started to protest him stopping and gave her a soft meaningful look that said something like 'There's more where that cam from', then turned to see who was looking for him. Chase was the last person he expected to see. The fine lips of his turned into a thin line as his eyes narrowed just slightly, yet his arm remained around Alex. "Can I help you?" he asked, wondering more about the expression of... was it fear? on Chase's face.
___
Alex scowled bitterly as Edward abruptly stopped, and looked around her eyes of crimson landing on Chase. She was about to say something about him interrupting but a simple finger of Edward took away all hate and she remained silent. She played back what had just happened as the two stared each other down for a moment. His delicious lips of morphine had nearly sent her into unconsciousness.
Amazing.
Amazing how he could so easily make her weak at the knees. Amazing how easily he could seduce her into probably anything. Amazing... but Alex didn't care, nor did she ponder over it long. She was happy, if happy could even describe what she was feeling. And she turned her attention back to the two boys.
One- Chase who had seemed to have decided to butt into anything she had been doing in the last... well ever since they met, and now wanted Edwards attention.
And Two- Edward... simply, even though Edward could never be simply put to Alex, her god.
Edward eyed Chase, his deep hues becoming narrower as Chase spoke. Of course, he had heard about his grandfather, what kind of question was that? Why wouldn't he know? And wait... The end of Chase's statement startled him. How did Chase know and he didn't? It didn't matter much to him who had killed his grandfather... He was dead and finding the culprit would only bring on sinful revenge but... For some reason Edwards arm around Alex became tighter as he responded, "How do you know who killed him and I don't?" Edward tried staying as calm as possible, but there was a hint of annoyance in his usual calm voice.
Chase smirked and looked him in the eyes.
"Let's say...well now. Let's NOT just say. I was there and I saw Borris get sliced into tiny peices by a jagged piece of shrapnel...and you know what? I laughed! He finally got what he deserved, that ungreatful Death Eater....."
Chase realized he said too much. He regained himself and said,
"I know you're not the 'revenge' person, Ed. But I think you'll want revenge when you find out who it was..."
Chase turned, waved to them, and walked back to Sabrina.
Raven entered her droom and just happened to look out the window. Seeing a bunch of students out side which was nothing unsual. But then as she truned away she thought she saw Edward, Alex, Chase and some girl who she hadnt seen before." Interesting...suddenly I find I am no longer tired" she said grinning. Raven raced out of the droom, into the common room out through the school and then stopped to catch her breath and to look relaxed so she could simply and accidently walk into what just happened. Raven after taking deep breaths and breathing at a normal pace walked up innocently to Alex and Edward. "Hey...you guys see chase lately?. I need to talk to him about.....about...something.. somthing ....Important...yes..Imporant" Raven said trying to find an excuse to talk to him.
Two red eyes appeared in the shadows of ravens room and shade walked into the light. " It feels so wonderful to be back," his eyes grew even brighter as he talked to himself. He walked out of the door and into the Slytherin common room, drawing stares as he walked to the door. A bold sixth year drew his wand and stepped in front of Shade, blocking his way out.
" who are you, and why are you here"
Shade bent down to look at the student, seeing fear in his eyes as Shade met his gaze. The burning red eyes seemed to look straight through the boy and he slowly drew his wand. " It's not nice to stare, especially at me" his words dripped poison as he drew closer to the boy, embedding his wand in the boys robes. He bent his head to the boy's ear and whispered, "Avada Kadavra". The boy dropped to the ground and Shade stepped out of the common room and headed outside. He took a deep breath of air and headed towards the woods, doing his best to avoid the group on the lawn.
