Shade walked up to the cave and hit the barrier with a spell. He saw raven and walked inside.
"Ah raven, stuck in one of DM's little caves I see." he looked around the cave, then back at raven.
" Well what are you staring at, aren't you going to apparate away."
He looked at her and his eyes were like red embers.
Raven turned around with gritted teeth and hauled off putting a fist to shades face and said "not today!" she then instantly apperated away taking advantage of Shades careless mistake by removing the spell from the cave. She appearted to Hogsmeade looking for Chase but trying to stay in the shadows to avoid being seen.
Raven slowly walked looking for Chase when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Raven screamed and the hand was placed over her mouth. "Shhhh" Raven then realized it was Lamia. She turned around to face him "thank God, its you". Lamia smiled and said "Raven your in danger! I know a safe spot to take you. It highly guarded and has mass spells that can not be broken by enemy." Raven looked at lamia still shaken and said "how does it work?"..Lamia smiled gently and said "well, its hard to explain. There is a spell set that only my father can remove. he made that way. but he also set it so that force around it can read your intentions and your deepest hearts desire. any evil or negative energy is not allowed in". Raven nodded "Take me there till I can find how to save Chase". Lamia took Ravens hand and said "but of course" as they appearated to a beautiful gorgeous castle that looked almost nestled in the clouds. Lamia led Raven inside "well hear we are"
Alex sat in the Three Broomsticks. Alone. Tears stained her pale cheeks, and her toxic-green burned with regret. Gone. As if she had tried to hold a cloud in her hand. It all slipped away, down a dark, rusted drain. Even one without a beating heart still felt the pain and depression of a broken heart. No he didn't just break it, he weakened it, turning it vulnerable to every hit. But Alex, instead of feeling pain as what most around her thought, A feeling of completely nothing.
Nothing.
A black whole that she was left in. Simply going through the motions. Alex sat in the same corner where she had met him. Where they had seemed so close. It was almost unbearable to think about it. She set down her mug of butterbeer, leaving whatever money she had in her pocket on the table, and went outside. It was cold, drizzling a little, a particularly gloomy day. One that matched her mood perfectly.
Someone cried out as she passed by an alley. Alex slowly turned her head, not all that interested in a meal... but it had a familiar ring to it. A sound of the past, vague yes, but no matter. She turned down the alley, and stumbled upon the last person she wanted to see.
Chase shook awake and looked up to see Alex.
"Ha! Got me right were you want me, huh, Alex? All alone. Me defenseless."
Then he realized she had been crying. This feuled him on even more, but inside he cared deeply about her and what she was feeling. But he'd never admit it. He used the last ounce of his strength to sit up.
"Listen, I'm sorry about whatever happened but if you want a fight, you're gonna have to heal me...."
He held out his hand.
His ignoarance. His coldness. His total disrespect for her.
Nothing.
She stared at him. Useless. Wounded. She spoke, her voice raspy and strained as if she hasn't used it in a while, "Someone in your postition shouldn't pick a fight, Chase." But nonetheless, she pulled him to his feet and handed him his wand. "Heal yourself." Alex took a few steps back and stared distantly at the ground.
He nodded and did just that. He looked at her and felt not only her hatred, but also her defeat. She was done for.
"You've given up, haven't you? You don't care anymore...Not that you ever did. When we first met I tried to help you. But you cut yourself off from humanity because you arn't alive. ****-a-doodle-doo. You can't just give up. It's not you, Alex. Now....fight me and meet an honorable death..."
He put away his wand away and pulled a dagger...and lunged at her.
His words echoed slowly through her blank mind. It hardly had the effect he intended it to have. She looked up at Chase, sure what he said was true. Her defeat. She was drained. Drained of life. Drained of feelings. But something stirred. An old fire, rekindled.
She reacted quickly, quicker than even she thought possible. Blocking the dagger and sending her fist into his jaw. There was a subtle crack of a broken tooth, and a thunk as his head hit the nearby wall. She shook her head, yet her eyes still remained lifeless.
Chase hit the wall with a thud but shot right back up. It hurt like hell but he knew it was working. If he fought her long enough mabye she'd come back to her senses. If not, then he'd have to end it... Suddenly he lunged foward and dug his dagger deep into her left shoulderblade. He thenj pushed her away and kicked her in the jaw, hearing a crack but knowing her jaw wasn't broken. He doubled back and stood, ready to defend.
"What's wrong Alex? Too much of a punk to kill me!?!"
His words were slurred with pain.
Lamia took Raven by the hand and lead her into what looked like a little library. "All in due time Raven...but you can not put the cart before the horse." "you need to have an idea of what he is planning and wants to accomplish" "and then be able to stop him" Raven looked at Lamia "but, I already know what he wants" Lamia shook his head "but do you really?" Raven didnt answer. Lamia walked over to a table and opened a over sized book "Only shade can truly let us know what is deeply bothering him. he obviously has a motive. but there are more sufficient ways you can get clues to his behavior"
Alex clencehed her teeth as she felt the seering pain in her shoulder and collapsed to her knees under the pressure. The pain. The physical pain. It had been forgotten, it was something she hadn't felt since she had been changed. It was almost unbearable. But Alex didn't have much time to dwell on it as Chase's foot connected with her jaw. She was sent spiraling to the ground, and onto the cold concrete. Thick warm blood seeped out of her head wound and trickled through her dark hair.
Her surrounding rolled in and out of focus, a blanket of darkness started to spread over her. "Do it, Chase." her voice was slurred and mixed with blood, yet still seemed to retain its icy darkness. "Do it now..." She wasn't sure of what she was saying. Alex struggled to open her eyes to see what Chase would decide to do.
