Because he might be arrogant but not stupid. He's lived for hundred years. Fought thousand battles. He knows when he needs to DODGE. Especially when he has met Wolverine BEFORE. You are underestimating him, he is probably a lot smarter then Wolverine.

nobody's arguing intelligence, but the fact is as far as fighting "smarts" go wolverine has an abundance of that...
anywho... being intelligent doesn't mean that one will simply ignore his pride... something namor has an abundance of. he was arrogant, he tried to tangle with wolverine in h2h and he paid for it..
(a shield can't follow you or lead you.. wolverine can. I've never seen the shield move faster than the human eye can trace.. I have however seen wolverine.. hmmm..)

yes he was capable of dodging him.... ONCE...
that doesn't really bode well for your argument.
wolverine did less damage because he only got a glancing blow, the same type of hit had relatively little effect in the new invaders fight as well. If the two had continued to fight without being interupted as they did in new invaders.. well... who knows.

The writer still made him be a complete idiot...he has not had his arrogant rages for years. I mean...standing with uncertain look on your face, with your fists being put up in front of you while a guy who can shred through steel like it's butter lunges at you? No...I don't think that's Namor. He would have hit him while he was lunging at him, or dodged him. And a simple stab like that would not have put him down anyway...he was able to fight while he had a gaping hole on his stomach...made by Ebony Blade..withstand a heat that was nearly equivalent to sun...and then one stab from Wolverine puts him down? Yes...that's really Avenging Son for you. 🙄
