USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Well, actually the opposite end, but the same principle.

I'll bet we could fight our way through, but we have to figure out if we can do it fast enough, we can't let the SD's come into play. If we can just punch a hole through the Ties, we'll be good.
I'm ok with fighting though. Just play protect the slower ones, and then once they get clear we scram.

Punching a hole won't do it. The others will follow you down. This is a bad situation.

You said earlier if we made it to the atmosphere we would be ok...

But if the TIEs follow you down, they can follow you to where you land... it's different now you've been blown.

oh, yea that is bad..

Perhaps we should race to another portion of the planet?

Besides, I thought fighting the TIEs would cause bad things to happen...

"[All power to shields, engines, and life support, Captain...]" Eerin says to Kyle. "[This could get messy.]"

(BB, the bad thing has happened I think. The gloves are off, they're not here to talk. We have to erase or chase off all these TIE's before the SD's get involved.)

"Scratch that, Eerin. We're going to have to fight this time. Damn, it was going so well." Kyle adds sarcastically. "Go ahead and charge up the main gun, divert power from non-combat systems. Might as well head up to the main gun yourself. Try to pick off the TIE's closest to the other freighters. I'll try to keep our own butts out of the fire."
He comms the fighter pilot. "Cassius, I think it's time to show us just how good of a fighter pilot you are. Protect Drakkon's freighters."

Tactical plan, guys?

(Well, tpt is the space fighter guy, but I thin we should work on protecting Drakkon's freighters first and work our way out from there until the TIE's are gone or leave us alone. Also, something I just thought about is the possibility of a tracking device from the TIE's ala Episode IV. Tpt? Eerin?)

Bit of a rogue element, is tpt. He's no commander, he's a wacky flyboy.

Tracking devices have to be put on by hand- don't worry about it.

Your objective is to get the cargo to the landing site without any TIEs following you there.

(Cool, just wondered about that. Yeah, unless someone else chimes in, let's doi as I said above. Protect freighters, go from there.)

Remember Drakkon has no freighters. These are all hired smugglers. Someone want to think about that?

(Geez, I guess I'm not the detail guy. Okay, so these guys are going to want to bolt aren't they? Could we promise a bonus for anyone who lands at our site if that comes up? Of course, if they're smugglers, they might be better equipped to run the blockade with us. Do we know anything about the pilots/crew we're running with?)

Well, you can't guarantee they will bolt, but loyalty to coin evaporates fast when life is under threat.

Other than that you know little other than they they want to make large amounts of money, which you still think is odd in the circumstances.

"[...diverting power from life support, then, and a little from the shields...just enough to get the guns running...]" Eerin says, before unstrapping and heading to turret.

(Could we get Scarlet to enter the fray, or would she not be up here in time?)

(Hmm...I say we try to maneuver for a point where the TIE concentration is the weakest and punch through there. Cass can try to clear a path for the freighters, as can I with the gun...)

(So, the smugglers know something we don't I guess. Well, a space fight probably isn't the time for discussion. I'll try to keep it in mind though.)

"There's a bonus for each of you that reaches our landing site, as soon as we meet up with our benefactor." Kyle yells in the comm for the other ships to hear. "Great, Eerin. Happy hunting."

(BB, we can't just punch through or clear paths. Every TIE has to be 'taken care' of so we can keep our landing site a secret. We have to wipe them out...all of them. Or at least chase everyone off. How about we hang back and pick off anyone gunning for the other freighters, while Cass goes wherever he's needed most, either helping us or the others. He's the most manouverable, so maybe he can run around putting out the fires.)

Ush implied that I should ask them about it, earlier, but I was more concerned with their reliability...

And can we take on ALL the TIE fighters?

We just have to make then retreat.
My "Char" is all for just going around and killing them
But me as a tactical planner, says we just need to make them stop following us.
So I say we go and try to punch through, and once we get between the Ties and the atmosphere, we can just pick off any leaders and make them really not want to follow us.

Stefan and I talked this through...

I'm pretty sure that the main target will be the Last Laugh. Woohoo, great for Kyle and Eerin. Hell, Vader even mentioned us.

I'll let Stefan elaborate...
