Brushing flaming snake skin off of himself, Kyle looks at Rhys. "Thanks. I owe you one. Well, probably more than one. Eerin too. Now what say we move away from the fire?

Rhys would now like to disentangle himself from the snake's remains, and look around to see where there isn't fire yet.

"It was just luck. I agree about the fire, though."

Well, err, the fire seems to have spread rapidly, and seems also to be everywhere.

It's hot, btw.

"Okay, I've been in worse situations than this before. None immediately jump to mind, but..."

Could we, say, shoot (or chop, Eerin) down a large tree branch to try and get over the edge of our personal fire pit?

Hot fire. Wasn't expecting to deal with hot fire...

I need a logical connection with downing a branch and getting out of there, I am afraid.

Fire is spreading.

(Something big eough that we can use it like a 'bridge' to cross the fire. It's falling would extinguish the flames under and right beside it, making a temporary path through the blaze. We should be able to cross it before it ignites.)

Who is taking the shot?

(I will, unless there is something close that BB can hack down just as quick.)

Bang! Good shot.

However, you have severely aggravated whatever it was in the Tree...

(Really... I'm shocked... *sigh* And is this a menacing thing I assume? Or can we just run away now?)

The scary thing is I expected that, despite the fact that logic told me any animals should have run away from the fire.

Rhys hurries over the fallen branch before it catches fire.

Only because they are not used to it. These animals have evolved in an environment where at least one creature uses fire regularly.

Black tentacles- whether actually black or just seeming so in the firelit nightmarer around you, are darting out of the tree. There are wicked spines all over it, most likely poisonous.

Rhys, over the brnach, onto the ground, and your foot lands in something's mouth. This thing actually seems built into the ground, and was using foliage to disguise itself.

(OOOH! A Sarlac Baby. Cute! Eerin, let's just duck and run, grab Rhys on the way by and get the hell out. We are going to end up fighting the whole damn zoo if we keep fighting here.)

"Let's get out of here! Grab Rhys and let's go!" Kyle shouts. He's had enough, it's time to leave.

"What the hell?!" Rhys yells as his foot drops lower than it should have.

Any chance he can just pull his foot back out?

Can try. That makes it a Strength roll.

I'll try that Strength roll.

Awww, boo, you made it...

I love your enthusiasm. ermm

Hurrying away from Sarlacc Jr. and Japanese Schoolgirl's Worst Nightmare.

Also turning around to tell Kyle and Eerin to hurry, and watch for ground mouths.

That's when you hear the squeaking of the bat-like creatures.
