"Do you want to step into the Galaxy's biggest buffet?"

"Heck no! I just thought we'd see who's the best shot from here. But, since I thought of it. It's probably a bad idea." Kyle laughs. "Besides, it's a pretty good show already."

Cass remains calm, His romanesqe battle sences preventing him from gloating yet, but he still chuckles at the scene of near total annialation.

Eerin waits, watching the raptors create carnage and chaos in the Imperial camp.

"[Should we go, then? Or wait for an opportune moment to fire?]" he asks into his comlink to the others.

I would say, if you have a clear shot at doing some damage to one of the machines, take it, but don't get in the way or anything.

I agree.

Senator Galahad is likely asleep right now, but I'm sure Lanzar City will be hearing about the attack soon...

Sasha watches from the jungle with the others.

"Should we ditch our armor?" Sasha asks. "And should we be heading off soon?"

Hmm, I think we should get out of here, leave the raptors up to their trooper-eating. That way, nobody suspects the Rebels! Haha!

Of course, you can overrule me, just a thought.

Ehh, they'll know we did something anyway. Or just blame us because they can.

I'd say take a shot if you can, Eerin.

Well, there is a lot of slaughter, especially as they get into the barracks.

Still, it's a big camp and a lot of Stormtroopers are up and armed and firing very quickly. They have some AT-STs into operation as well.

The most effective weapon against the Raptors, though, is proving to be the speeder bikes. After about ten minutes, they are starting to zoom around all over the place.

The battle is starting to come to an end.

Not a single piece of air cover arrived throughout the fight.

Early on, Stormtroopers suffered very heavy casualties. Raptors are very fast and just about resistant enough to smallarms fire that they could tear through the scattered troopers forces. Only later, when the troopers came in deep formations did things start to change. The raptors started to attack from the sides and rear, and so eventually the troopers formed squares to drive the attackers off. Even so, casualties were still hefty, and it was only when enough people had presence of mind to deply heavy repeating blasters and the like that the killing stopped.

AT-ATs were too slow and unwieldly to be used.

AT-STs did well enough; their guns are reasonably well targetted and fast firing. Raptors don't do much against their armoured hulls. Some were knocked over by mass raptor charges, but suffered no permanent damage. But they didn;t slaughter; trying to get enough into the right place was difficulty and they turned too slowly when raptors got past them.

Those speeders were definitely the best weapon. Although massed trooper ranks killed more quickly, speeders could make hit and run attacks. Their light guns are well suited for raptors and, most importantly, they could zip away faster than the raptors could run, which meant speeders could engage them safely. Only in open field of course; it would be a nightmare in the jungle.

Did the Imps suffer a strategically significant loss?

*writes down how well the different Imp countermeasures worked for future ideas*

Yup. The loss is about 1000 men; the Imperials will have one fewer unit of troopers in the big fight.

Can Eerin target an AT-ST if one comes close enough? Perhaps even one that the Raptors knocked over...

Otherwise, Eerin will rendezvous with Vasilik and the others and we can get back to the skiffs and head home.

You were nowhere near that close to the fighting. Besides, what would blowing one ST do other than give away you are there?

Good point.

Eerin will put the safety on his launcher and head back to the skiffs, choosing not to take his shots.

"[No need for it]," Eerin says, climbing onto one of the skiffs.

We have four skiffs, right? Top is pilot, bottom is gunner.

Scarlet
Rhys

Cass
Kyle

Sasha
Ranad

Vasilik
Eerin

"[No stops, let's just go]," Eerin says, powering up the gun.

Scarlet gets at the controls, waits for Rhys to board, then waits for Vasilik to lead the way back into the jungle.

"Well, I guess I should feel bad about the raptors. They were very helpful. I wonder if we could do that again? Maybe as the army marches into the jungle to reach the city. That would severely hamper the bikes, and help break up the mass fire of the stormtroopers. That's if they march into the jungle in the first place."

"Hmmm," says Vasilik. "Best to strike at a serpent when it resting then when it is poised to strike."

"Indeed, it'll be awkward to do this while they're marching on the City," Sasha says. "But there may be another opportunity to do this before they march. They'll be on guard, but any casualties will help."
