Certainly the most important administrative thing there, yes.

-

Vasilik thinks this over.

"We... trick them?"

"No! Convincing! I want to convince them to work together by choice! But what would that require?"

Vasilik still seems stuck on his last thought.

"Yes, we write ballot paper, say, yes, vote for who you like, but small print says, all votes cast are for Drakkon! Drakkon win, 100% vote, all unite!"

Good to see Vasilik has such a handle on true politics.

Rhys chuckles at Vasilik's idea. "Duchess, I really don't think that's how Osokans work. Just look at their society."

Ush, would Savoir-Faire be able to give Rhys an idea of what would motivate them to unite under Drakkon?

Eerin is a little worried by that last thing.

"[Are you fixing the votes?]" Eerin asks. "[...someone translate...]"

Frankly, Rhys, you'd go for the big stick.

It's amazing Drakkon has done what he has, really. No planet is truly united; the problem is that Osokans have an uncompromising attitude to beign in opposition.

As far as you are concerned, Sasha- this place needs time to calm down after such a long period of strife. For two decades they have only known violence as a way to solve problems.

Understandable.

"...heh, fixing the votes..." Sasha chuckles. "...you're not really doing that, right?"

"You just need to unite against the enemy. Fight big foe together... Then work things out..."

"Noooooooooooooo!" says Vasilik. "No need. All who oppose Drakkon probably die anyway. Who vote for dying idiots?"

As to the common foe thing...

"Yes! Smash stupid Lodges! Common foe for all!"

"No! Common foe is the Stormtroopers! The people we hunted!" *Points backwards towards the camp* "If ALL Osokans do not unite and fight the stormtroopers ALL Osokans will die! Even Drakkon!"

"Oh, stormtroopers... well, all fight Empire, of course. That not unity, just survival."

"But it needs to become unity!" Sasha says. "Otherwise, the stormtroopers will just keep coming until you cannot fight them any longer. Lanzar needs to reach a state where those who oppose the rule of Drakkon do not die for it. That is the democracy that the Senate wishes to achieve here."

"Ohh, if all opponents of Drakkon dead, there would be no more opponents and you would have your unity. They not die. To go on... that is job of Drakkon and Comitieme... Comm... big group of Senators. But... stormtroopers not stop. Stormtroopers endless. Does not matter what we do."

"That's not true. If the Imperial Army is defeated, the Senate will not allow more to be sent. Especially the Army attacks on weak excuses."

(Before I say that, is that above statement actually true?)

Frankly you have no idea. You'd like to think so.

"Ahhh..." says Vasilik. "Senate all talk. Emperor- man of action. Drakkon know of Emperor. Used to work for him. Understands the way of things.

"Lodge Masters all fools, and yes, I know, Vasilik stupidest of all. Famous for it. I may be stupid, but no fool. I know, old war would destroy all. Also know... I greatest Hunter, but cannot run world. Only Drakkon run world. So I give up ambitions, and help Drakkon to win war. For sake of... unity.

"Maybe one day, you could change minds of all fools. But too late. Now, we are the Hunted, and the Hunt only ends when predator or prey is dead. Will you kill Emperor?"

"I've never thought about that," Sasha admits. "I suppose that that is how the struggle would end, if the Rebellion were successful. I would like to think that we're going to win, that our energy will prevail and we'll be the victors. Who knows, though. Perhaps the Emperor will win in the end. Perhaps nobody will win."

Scarlet listens to the conversation.

"How Drakkon runs the planet is just fine by me. The Senate cannot work out everything, but they can fix things. Lanzar needs a galactic nap and as much peace as it can get.

"Meanwhile, the Emperor? I'd kill him if I got the chance. By the Force, I hope I get that chance..."

She looks over to Vasilik as she maneuvers the skiff.

"Do you know how Drakkon plans to defend the city? The shield gives us a hefty advantage, but it can't keep everything out."

Aww, you all let Vasilik call himself stupid without comment... heartless cads!

Vasilik doesn't know much about tactics but the arms shipments should allow him to better defend the walls. Osokans prefer melee weapons, and the tiny remaining numbers of Hunters will make devastating defenders in the city's narrow streets, but the walls really need to be held and Drakkon very much had that in mind when he bought guns; ranged weapons will be king there.

I am going to guess that the Imperial Star Destroyer communicating with the Senate is far from good.

Err, very much maybe not, no.
