USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

No, they aren't confident at all; the convo only accentuated that they are really worried.

Well, looks like the ball is rapidly coming out of your hands on this one...

Aw, dammit, I totally forgot about this!

Okay, well, can I probe them to find out who enlisted the captains of the ships that ran the blockade? Along the lines of: "Why would someone be stupid enough to come back?"

Well,. they can answer that, sure, these guys came asking around, looking for people willing to do it.

But you already know who it was, Lyle- Kyle, Captain of the Last Laugh.

Well, lyle, as it stands, you are totally at a loss at why they are here. Trading of hunting knickknacks seems a gain totally at odds with the extreme risks of staying here, seeing the Imperials have already been shown to be trigger happy.

Logical connection...

Well, they SHOULD have gotten the hell out of here because we like shooting things, but they've stayed...

Can we open that conversation again? Pointblank ask them why they've stayed when they'd normally be running for the hills?

I'd hazard a guess that they don't think the Empire's going to get away with keeping up the blockade, which is why they're not running for it.

Their answer, GK, was that they wouldn't have their full shipments if they left right now.

Well, they are waiting and seeing, Lana, but in the opinion of you guys, it's an absurd risk, that's the point. In any similar situation they would have cut and run yonks ago. As soon as the rumours came, for most of them, let alone when the ships showed, and CERTAINLY when the firing started.

Could they be planning to side with Drakkon?

That's just crazy talk.

Perhaps those people are mercenaries hired by Drakkon?

That's what I just said 😛 And, yeah, it was a suggestion born from desperation.

I have two suggestions:

Either the potential gains outweigh the risks (We need to figure out what the gains are, or why they don't consider the risks that bad. Since the risks are bad, it must be to do with gains.)

Or, maybe they just can't/aren't allowed to leave.

DING!

Trick has it with point one. The only reason for people like this to risk it is if the potential gain is huge.

Nice work, Lyle. Arvus will just watch the conversation continue until he has something to add.

So, we need to know what exactly they're looking for. Obviously we can't just come out and ask, though.

Any suggestions on what they could be doing? What could Drakkon/Lanzar have that's so worth it? Do we have any ideas, Ush?

That's a question to ask yourself.

Can you pretend to be willing to join those scoundrels? Or perhaps interrogate one of them?

I don't know what they want, so I can't pretend to want it too. I'm not going to snatch anyone - maybe Zink or Lana could.

Well, you did something similar at the very beginning, I think, when Rylis terrorized one of those scoundrels.

I did not terrorize that guy. I asked him some questions. Kind of roughly. Heh.
