"There has been no rebellion against me," says Drakkon. "It simply took time to secure my control."

-

"Well, that's not what I want, Squadron Leader," says Nidar. "I want an open an obvious blockade that will make our presence and our intent clear, to DARE people to run it!"

Ush, how close are we to the end of the hour?

I have two temporally disjointed convos with Drakkon to finish and then it moves on.

Melkor smiles:

"Well, it is all a matter of perspective. You want to secure your power, but you are too proud to admit that you have to recognize the superior power of Empire. Your people were once pacified by Republic, but it seems that Osokans are not capable of learning on their own mistakes.

You are a leader of questionable loyality and support, Drakkon. And considering that Emperor is angry regarding your deeds, and there a fleet orbiting over your world with enough firepower to instantly raze this city, your position is quite difficult, to say it carefullly. And you don`t react very positevely to my efforts of helping you.

I share the command of this Taskforce with Commodore Nidar, who is not as wise as I am, and is quick to advise military solutions. But I still believe in peaceful solution, and for this reason I came here, yet I cannot restrain the Officers forever. I need your help if we are to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. Certainly, revealing the Rebel agents would be a great gift for the Emperor, and could make him change his disposition.

The terms I suggested were only a propositiion, perhaps we can come with something more reasonable." -Melkor takes the agreement draft:

"Are you happy with the terms you and Andran decided on, and confident that it could be fullfilled without further violence erupting? I see that the part about free elections is not finished, what are the controversies?"

Ush - is their admittance of being rebels enough for us to say there's a rebel presence on the planet?

"I didn't say I did not recognise your strength, quite the contrary," says Drakkon. "But yes, I an minded to put my faith in Andran. As I have told you, I am a leader who has been decided by my people. Everything else you say is a threat. If you have nothing else to give me, then I think we are done."

-

Yes... but why would they admit it?

"I could give you peace and unquestioned dominion over Lanzar, fool! With my help, you could eliminate the Lodge Masters and all opposition towards your rule." -Esgabath for the first time seems to be losing his calm, but it lasts only for a short moment, than his composure returns.

"I assume you will not allow me to participiate in the further negotiations, then?"

"I HAVE unquestioned dominion over Lanzar. What you do not understand, man of Coruscant, is that you CANNOT rule this world without the loyalty of its people. Lanzar cannot be held by force, not by me or anyone else. That was one of Matadan's two errors. Whatever you offer me is irrelevant; if I try to use Imperial power to help me rule, I will not rule at all. The Osokan people will not accept it.

"You may negotiate all you wish. But I will not cede power or security, not one inch. There will be no Imperial garrison here. We will rule ourselves without interference, and anything short of that we will fight for."

"Well, I asked you about Andran`s terms, are all of them accepted by you and Lodge Masters?"

"There will be no more violence unless you bring it here."

Yes... but why would they admit it?

Kyle told Arvus that it wasn't a crime on this planet. And, I quote;
"fly away to your Imperial masters and tell them that they can't have this planet. While your at it, put them on notice that they aren't keeping the Galaxy much longer, either. I don't know how a monster like Palpatine managed to take power, but I have a pretty good idea how he's going to lose it."

Post 40, page 2 of the convo thread.

First of all, he never said he was a Rebel. Imperial players dropped that word in first which I am not happy with because there were no grounds to.

Second of all, even if he did, so what? Come an investigation it's his word against yours. Unless he gives you a signed confession, then anything you do would not be with due process, and if you are going to do that, why bother talking to them at all? Just steam in and blow the planet to pieces now, and be damned to Senate sympathy.

Either you are playing smart or you are not; if you are, you have to meet reasonable standards of evidence.

"It is a pity you refuse to cooperate with me, Andran has his best times behind him, he is a true politician who will manipulate you to proclaim his "sucess". He referred to Osokans as savages in front of me. (OOC: A little Lying here). He would love it if Imperial Military was provoked and started operation on this planet- he would try to use such event to undermine Emperor`s influence in the Senate. The suffering of your subjects would be nothing but a tool for him to achieve political gains.

But if you give the Rebel spies to us, we would have no excuse to interfere further. Do it, and I promise I will try to convince the Emperor that Lanzar should be left alone."

Drakkon smiles.

"We are savages," he says. "And as I said, I know nothing of sples."

"And I don`t have any proof that you are the so-called "legitimate" leader of the savages inhabiting this world. I will speak with the Lodge Masters if they trully recognize your authority."

"I seem to remember Andran warning me that you might try and turn the other Lodge Mastgers against me. But that as I am the elected representative of this world, that such a move would be classed as Treason."

Melkor sighs:

"Well, since neither you or Andran seem to be willing to give me much information about the situation on this planet, I wanted to gather some information. It is Andran that speaks about treason, I just want to verify whether your negotiations can bring peace to Lanzar. I am representing the Empire here as much as Andran, you cannot deny the Emperor the information on what happens here. Remember that he is the leader of the Senate, the same Senate that you count on. You cannot ignore him and his Emissary.

By the way, do you happen to know what other Senators leading the mission are currently doing?"

"No," says Drakkon. "And I am not ignoring you. I am simply dealng with the man who came first. If you are as important and notable as you say... then remove him."

"I could remove him, but it would be too costly and unncessary at this point. Actually, I came here to cooperate with him and help, but he doesn`t see it this way. But the result of negotiations needs to gain the approval of both Senate and Emperor.

So you seem to be completely satisfied with the terms that you agreed on? And I assume that you are aware of the fact that the leadership of this Senate Mission belongs to three Senators, not just one? Was your cooperation with the other two as smooth as it was with Andran?"
