"I am rather confused. WHAT orders? Specifics, General."

"The orders to land those troops, including yours."

"Why?"

"Why land them? Because that is what we are here for, yes? I haven't got time for games. I have an army to oversee."

"Surely this would be considered an act against the supposed peace on Lanzar? The Senate will not like this."

"Can you do nothing other than complain, General? Like I say, we have our duty to fulfill, and if you are not up to that, someone else will be found who is."

He's evading every question you asked. You aren't getting a single straight answer.

"Maybe you can direct me to someone who can answer a simple question, General? Or else the Commissar can find someone else who can for me."

Nidar steps in at this point.

"Don't threaten my staff, General. Your men are following their orders, and you should do the same."

Janthis looks up to the sky well not much doubt now what his next orders will be.
Taking a moment to see the grandeur of it all despite the turmoil and death such an image carries one can not overlook its beauty either.
Soon the thought leaves his mind Janthis goes to the side of Travis it is time to be sharp focused.

"What good is it if I don't understand the orders, or where they originated? What good is it if my co-workers sidestep my questions? I did not give orders to deploy, and yet my troops are headed for the surface! And I don't have answers!"

You turn around to be confronted by a very tall gentleman in black armour who seems to have imperfect respiration.

"Lord Vader!" -It takes Esgabath several seconds before he is able to recover, but he won`t let himself be intimidated. -"I assume your orders come directly from the Emperor, as do mine?"

OOC: What is the legal status of Vader? Something like Emperor`s supreme special agent, right? His authority was not absolute in ANH, at least- he seemed to be under Tarkin during the entire first Death Star fiasco.

Yes, but that's Tarkin. You have to be REALLY high up the chain to stand up to Vader. He has no official rank as such, but who the hell is going to argue?

The Emperor has ordered for there to be no delay. I am making sure this is so.

"I planned to delay the invasion for a day or two, Lord Vader, in order to distrupt the negotiations of the Senators and destabilize the entire situation on Lanzar. Currently, we have no legal reason to invade, and Senate is going to make trouble."

Melkor will make a quick report of the situation on Lanzar, including Drakkon`s and Andran`s defiance. He is respectful but confident.

Vader raises a hand and cuts you off before you reach that point. Incidentally, your aide is hovering just behind him; she has obviously been talking with him.

Further delay in the deployment of troops will mean that invasion, when it comes, will take too long to complete.

Nidar and Atar, btw, have gone back to busying themsevles like they did when you arrived, pointedly making sure that they stay out of Vader's way. This explains, btw, why so much effort was being put into making sure everything was running smoothly.

"Those troops were escorting me and General Coil to Lanzar." -Esgabath wonders if the rumors that Vader can read minds are true, he wouldn`t like to hear that Commisar considered arresting Nidar.

"Commander, please return to Deviator"- He orders Janthis, than turns back to Vader.

"Did Emperor gave any further instructions? We need to deal with the Senate Mission, not only with Osokans. His Majesty ordered me to overcome political difficulties as well as military."

It certainly would be a 'faux pas' for it to be known that you brought troopers to the bridge to try and counter orders coming from Vader, yes.

Commander, dismiss your men and remain here[n/], says Vader.

If any further orders are issued, then the Emperor will make that known whenever he wishes

Vader turns back to Coll, who with any luck has regained his composure by now, and it is clear that Vader wants an answer to his original question.

"Lord Vader!" General Coll says, obviously thrown off but recovered and still a slight bit squeaky with nervousness. "I have no problems with the orders whatsoever, your Lordship, I just wished to understand why they had been ordered, and by whom. You have made those clear to me."

And you think there will be some sort of problem with the action I have ordered?
