Symbiote Picture Thread

Who has the carnage symbiote, why does it look like the ultimate universe version, and anyone else feel this has gone to far.

As far as I can tell from New Avengers, its just a red symbiote, not Carnage, because it goes away when they get rid of the 'virus'. If you think that goes to far, read the solicitation for the upcoming Cable and Deadpool #50!

Personally, I like heroes/villains in symbiotes, but don't like the whole 'virus' thing. They are aliens not viruses (as in Avengers) or toxins (as in Spiderman Family).

Oh, and it looks like the Ultimate version because its drawn by Mark (Ultimate Spiderman) Bagley, which is probably the extent of the similarity. And it is Wasp with her new 'Giant-Wasp' powers.

How stupid.

Best comment ever. You are a genius 👆

Thank you, I guess.

Pretty sure it's the Wasp, yes...

Still, I'm more interested in seeing how they resolve getting it off of her, (as I'm sure there'll be some fun panels showing it being blasted off her)... then I am seeing her as a giant Carnage-lookalike knocking over buildings and stuff.

Hopefully one of y'all gets the book and lets the rest of us know whether it's a waste of time or not.

Was the wasp not male back in the classic era?, I think she looks good with a symbiote, even though it looks like the ultimate version, (I hate ultimate BTW) They need to keep art styles separate, I don't want new ultimate art or stories appearing in the main universe, I won't be getting the comic, the new modern marvel comics are a waste of time, they ruin classic tradition, and classic characters, however I am rather curious so I may take a peak and buy it, perhaps?

The last page of the last issue of New Avengers 35 is here:

on page 107 of this thread.

The New Avengers arc was supposed to run concurrent with the Mighty Avengers arc, but that arc was delayed due to the current artist (Cho) not Bagley. (My friend gets the Avengers titles so I read them - 36 was ok, but more of a teaser for the Mighty Avengers arc).

By the way, Darkhalen, was actually the creator of Carnage in the regular universe and drew Venom and Carnage throughout much of the 90s in Amazing Spiderman. So I don't think his art will 'ruin' the Marvel Universe. That said, I prefer other artists drawing Carnage/Venom. And, for someone who hates the modern Marvel age (and prefers the past), you should know more about the past, like who Wasp is/was.

And in my attempt to make this thread better, I think every reply or so should include scans:

This is in honor of what appears to be the year of the symbiotes (For better or worse, they are popping up everywhere).

That is incorrect good sir, and I will post pics when I am ready, I don't care as far as I am concerened marvel have ruined Spider-man ect. also I hate carnage so I could not care less, I want the old stories and old art back.

BTW, Todd mcfarline drew Venom first so......

You can check out Wikipedia (not that it is necessarily true) and a quick check of covers will show who the artists were.

Which 'old' stories are you referring to? You don't like post 90s (fair enough) and you don't like classics (60s?), but don't seem to know about Mark (Maximum Carnage) Bagley's work. I would agree that McFarlane's first Venom arc was great and A.Spiderman 315-317 as well. Let us know what else did you did like instead of didn't like? and you can throw in a pic of one you liked while you are at it. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Here's a scan of a Bagley cover from the first Carnage arc (with Venom as well) in the early 90s.

Fair enough, I like the 60's 70's 80's and 90's, just not the 2000-07/08 arcs.

as for pics here is one.

Great, old friend.

Ummm... dude, Bagley has been drawing Spidey comics for like 10 or so years before Ultimate Spider-man even got started. Venom included in that art... on NUMEROUS occasions. Ever read a little mini-series called "Lethal Protector"? Issues #1-3 were done by Bagley, as well as a SLEW of other famous appearences (i.e. Amazing Spider-man #374/375, to name a few).

✅ LF protector with the LF foundation symbiotes.

But I mean I don't like the ultimate look in the main universe.

Me neither.

I hate ultimate.
