Shatter opened her eyes sharply as Bobby 'upped the anti'. The heat quickly turned to electricity and as soon as any of the ice came in contact with the 'field' Shatter was practically emitting, it shattered to peices. As the bombardment continued, Shatters breathing finally regulated along with her pulse. However, due to the intensity of her senses, her size continued to grow with each breath.
Emma narrowed her eyes and put her hand on Scott's shoulder. She didnt like where this was going. The girl was powerful... But did she know her limits?... Someone was going to get hurt in there. She glanced over at Logan as he spoke, then turned her attention back to Shatter. Her eyes widened when she finally realized that she was growing. "Professor... Do we have an estimate on the extent of her power yet?"
=Bobby stopped his assualt and as soon as he powere down the temperature returned to normal.=
Already?
=Bobby shrugs a bit and walks over to Shatter with a smile=
You. Weathered well.
=Logan shook his head as he powered down the Danger room=
I still think Bobby should of done more. I mean come on. We all know he was holding back...
Shatter looked up and nodded. As Bobby spoke to her she smiled and as they made their way back out of the room she slowed her breathing down, her form returning back to normal with each step she took.
Arriving at the control room she noticed two new arrivals, and she recognised only one by reputation alone... Scott Summers but she didn't recognise the woman.
"Scott is the greatest product of my institute's work. Before meeting him he was just a boy who couldn't control his powers. He is able to shoot beams of concussive force from his eyes. Now I know that doesn't sound great but when you work as hard as he did, you will find all other means of using your powers. Scott could split a small planet in two or blast a hole right in the middle of a dime perfectly."
Charles felt the need to demonstrate Scott's mastery over geometry and his powers so he reaches in his pocket and takes out a dime. Without warning he flips it in the air expecting Scott to show off a little bit of what he has learned.
Scott eyes the dime and very slighty tilts a lens of the glasses over allowing an extremly thin beam to shoot out and hit the dime placing a hole in it. The piece that fit in the hole hit the hall next to spiderman's head, as scott quickly straightend the glasses.
Spiderman turned his head towards the pice of the wall where the dime hit and exhaled heavily
"hey watch it, that was really close to scratching my suit"
"Now Scott if it is ok with you I would like you to share some of your knowledge with her during her tenure here. She was about to replace you as the leader seeing as you mysteriously vanished and all. (X-Force reference?) Still it would be immoral for me to just take the title away from her so I suppose you two will have to prove your worth as the leader someday when she feels ready. I'll need all of you though. These truly are dark times for mutant kind and our fellow mutants out there need the X-Men now more than ever."
=Logan shook his head a bit.=
Hmph. Didnt know we were showing off. And, Professor, If I didnt hold back Iceman wouldnt have had anyone to test.
=Bobby arched a brow at Logan.=
Oh come on. Admit it your just a big kitty cat.
=Logan growled and got up into Icemans face.=
You wana run that by me one more time bub?
Woa. Such Hostility Logan. Im just kidding with ya. take it easy.
=Logan snorted then sat down at the Danger Rooms control panel.=
Next time I turn you into Ice Cubes, and your only power will be cooling off my drinks.
=Bobby made a face that said 'whoa' then turned to Shatter with a Smile=

Shatter had stayed silent during the entire conversation, she watched Scott demonstrate his powers and as the Professor spoke, she felt that she'd cheated the man out of his title. It had all been unexpected and as far as she was concerned she still had a while to go. Looking to Bobby as he 'addressed' her she simply smiled and almost rolled her eyes. Her attention then turned to Scott and the Professor as she finally chose to speak.
"Professor... by saying what I'm about to say, I'm not in the slightest trying to undermine your decision... however I personally dont think I'm ready for such a leadership role, and with Scott back it'd only be fair for him to retake his rightfull place."
"Your aid would be most appreciated Spider-Man."
The professor listens to Shatter and understands what she is saying but he believes that she is only lacking the confidence to actually excel at something she seems born to do.
"I see, Emma, Logan, Bobby, and Spider-Man. All of them have known him for some time are ready to follow his every order in the midst of battle. Scott is one of the pillars that hold this team up and he a gift to mutant kind, he moves the mutants of today and has all of their respect.
On the other hand I see, Kyle, Kelly, Tempestro, although he is no longer with us, and you. They are all around your age and you have matured more than all of them. I see you all as the future of my X-Men. When Scott and Emma retire to live a normal life then I know I will have you to depend on. I know that when I die that I can count on Scott to continue my dream and watch over the children of this school. That will be a busy task and I will be able to rest peacefully knowing that the field team of X-Men rest in your hands. True you are not ready yet, but look to your peers Shatter, they'll need someone to follow. As I told Scott a long time ago, not everyone is a natural born leader. It takes hard work and sacrifice. The question is are you ready to dedicate yourself to this cause?"
