"It's nothing... Just never addressed an American group... I've got plenty experience with Aussie Mutants but this is an entirely different culture!" she took a few deep breaths to steady herself, now was the time and she only hoped that American Mutants weren't as difficult to sway as Australians... "Time to go! Back me up!" she said to Jade, picking herself up pff the sofa with he assistance of her powers as the armor weighed her down considerably.
As soon as she was on her feet, the music had stopped... something was happening and her first reaction was to look in the cloaked figure's direction, only to see that there was an empty seat.
the entire crowd had fallen silent save for a few grumbles as to the absence of the atmosphere, all eyes seemed to be on the small stage that housed the DJ's platform... the robed person stood tall over them, invisible eyes sweeping over them before speaking, "My brothers..." he said, drawing back his hood to reveal an old and wizened face adorned by many wrinkles that portrayed charisma beyond comprehension, the crowd gasped in unison and whispers were thrown back and forth... the only word Alchemy caught was Magneto.
"It is most heartwarming to see such a congregation of bretheren, most of you know who I am, Those who do not I ask for your patience and attention.... My name is Eric Lensherr, better known as Magneto and I come before you a victim of the cruelty of humankind... Rumors of my death have been greatly overstated, I was hit by their so-called cure and forced to live as a misreable old man... They did not realize that the cure's effects were only temporary though I am not blessed as greatly before but my former strength slowly returns!"
Out of the many times Ana had recruited fellow Mutants, she had never hel,d the attention as this old man did, as much as she was fuming at him for taking her chance she found herself admiring him... Only just, however...
"What about all the mutants that died? what makes you think that a dictator like yourself deserves to return to such a position among us?" called a raucous young man, obviously not impressed by his sob-story. his objection caused a mumor of aggreement to sweep through the crowd, they too wanting to know his excuse.
"Because, My young friend, we destroyed the source of their cure, we saved mutants from having to endure the effects if the weapon until it wore off and believe me, it's a horrifying experience to live as one of them!" his words silenced the disagreement, only a few walked out in disgust but still a sizable crowd stayed, nearly sixty-or-so...
